Absolutely Dune. They talk of threats by other parties, but the Greens really are dangerous. Their policies beggar belief, it is almost like they want to impose a Year Zero type government. The Green Party are effectively closet Communists full of extreme left wing fanatics who will care little about the country.

I was listening to a phone in on the radio on Friday whilst driving, and they were inundated with people from Brighton moaning about the havoc they've created. Apparently one green councillor campaigned for a cycle route, then campaigned against their own campaign because the route required a tree to be cut down.

Hilarious even if it is apocryphal. Ideologically there's a lot of things the Greens may have right, but they are delusional in their attempts to put their values into real-world policies.

A Green party would impose “research, education and economic measures” to drive a “transition from diets dominated by meat”. Factory farming would be abolished, and the sale of fur criminalised and shooting banned. Whips and jumps would be banned from horse racing.

Fooking loons.

Firstly Brighton has no single party with overall control. The Greens are the largest party and run the council. True they have messed up some parts and have been bogged down with in fighting but the behaviour of the established parties has been disgraceful. All of them have constantly tried to undermine the Greens.

On a national level they are the only party who want to put protecting our wonderful planet a priority ahead of the interests of big business and for that reason I shall be voting for them.

That's very commendable, vote for saving a few trees but also you would be voting for taking this country back to the dark ages and letting every extreme fringe group have their day.

There would be a famine in this country if the Greens got their way with people having to grow their own food. With the population as it was during ww2 we only just coped.

The Green Party got 8% of the vote at the last European parliament elections. They would have done better but half their voters put their ballot papers in the recycling bin.

As a country dwelling gent, in touch with farming and whatnot, i would have thought you'd be in favour of sorting out the unsustainable farming crisis? What about all of your diary farming mates, dune? Surely you cant be happy with them all going out of business? Or maybe you're treating agriculture in the same way that Thatcher treated mining?

I'm in favour of gm crops, that's the future for farming and reducing famine in the third world.

In fairness I don't think anyone has starved in Portsmouth lately so famine in the third world isn't as big a problem as you would think

I find them absurd. They are simply dabbling in silly politics, as are the juvenile simpletons that vote for them.
