Bradford's team only cost £7,500 23:33 - Jan 24 with 1871 viewsBigHandsOliverKahn

...according to the commentator on TV tonight. I've been comfortable for a long time that it might not all be about transfer fees nowadays in the lower leagues due to the Bosman ruling but having said that, there are a whole host of other things that can be done to allow a club to be successful... some of which we used to do but no longer seem to be bothering with.... planning, treating people well who will do a good job for you to keep a solid core of the team etc. It's that which is the most baffling about the whole situation at BFC. All these short term waste of time contracts of players passing in the night. I said many months ago, the only thing that would make sense of what has been happening at BFC is if the owners have given up and are expecting to sell up.

Putting a costing on Bratfurds squad does Phil Parkinson's efforts an injustice,as he's a resourceful manager and highly talented.
Didn't he turn the Seasiders down for some reason ?

Real fans go to pubs like the HITW or the Welly

The validity of the FA Cup as a serious competition has been kicked over the stands and far away after yesterday.

The Chelsea loss, after being 2-0 up, was a little familiar on a day of footballing horror. The City loss was the final insult to the best, and original, knockout tournament in world football. A sad day all round.

Bradfords team might have cost £7,500 but they have a manager we couldn't get, a player we couldn't get (at least on 2 occasions) Jon Stead, and have 3 cast off ex Blackpool players in Zoko, Halliday, Clarke, who were all considered not good enough for this club.

Total Shambles.

Yet the chairman said they were one million overspent this season, presumably wages.

They've invested all they had, that's supposed to be the point of a football club.

"The money has not been taken out of the football club to pay for this hotel, but the money will be borrowed to build the hotel in part or whole"

BHOK I think you are right about the extreme short termism - this is an exit strategy ensuring minimal expense to Oyston inc.

Sometimes difficult to grasp that we are now in a much worse position as a club than we were before our season in the sun - we enjoyed it but how many would have guessed this outcome
