Hoped I was getting a good deal on 16:49 - Dec 3 with 946 views | dune | I've just spent an hour reporting all her other items as being potentially fake. This ain't gonna be amicable. I'm getting my money back and I'm gonna teach them a lesson.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 17:21 - Dec 3 with 921 views | Kennington | You'll be fine, as ebay pretty much always sides with the buyer. If in the very unlikely event they don't, you can open a PayPal dispute, and again they nearly always go with the buyer. I would've held off giving negative feedback before hearing back from the seller as you never know the item could have been sent to you in error, although that's pretty unlikely. Nice to give the seller a few days to explain what they're playing at.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 17:24 - Dec 3 with 918 views | dune | Sod that. She knew what she was selling and hoped she'd get away with it. I've now got the hassle of sorting it out so I'm not in the mood for be pleasant about it.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 17:58 - Dec 3 with 886 views | 1885_SFC | eBay is littered with fakes alas. It's not just watches of course. There are plenty of fake clothing items too which - although eBay do take measures to prevent - do get listed as original. To be honest, it's a minefield for a buyer. As someone else said ; eBay always side with the buyer, so you'll always get your money back - even if the seller states 'no returns'. I really honestly don't mean to blow my own trumpet here, but I've always said if every seller on eBay was as honest & thoughtful as me, it would be a far better place! I've been selling on there as a business for over a decade now & have sold tens of thousands of pounds worth of military and shipping items/antiques. I've only ever had one negative - and that was 6-years ago from some stupid French bloke who "forgot" to collect a WWII battle tunic from his local post office - so it ended up being sent back to me in England!

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:06 - Dec 3 with 878 views | dune | Bitch wants me to post it back. Dear buyer I have contacted ebay to organise an immediate return. I must admit with the plastic tag still being under the winder l did not test the battery. I apologize for the inconvenience. Angie And my reply.... Dear Seller The battery not working is the least of the problems. The little dials are just for effect. The inside of the face is rubbish with wonky numbers etc. Everything about it screams out fake badly made rubbish. I wouldn't dream of listing something like that I'd just throw it in the bin. I'm annoyed because I've now got all the hassle because you thought you'd be able to sell it to a mug on eBay. As for posting it back why should I go to all the trouble (and risk because you might deny getting it) of posting back something that is illegal? It's fraud to sell counterfeit goods and I'm not going to be a party to letting this item find its way back onto the market. So this is what will happen. You can refund me and not receive it back or I will be telephoning the police in Sheffield to let them know that you are selling counterfeit goods. I will happily post them the watch with all the relevant receipts and screenshots. The ball is in your court but I'm not going to be messed about.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:09 - Dec 3 with 874 views | 1885_SFC | dune, you have to send the watch back via 'Special Delivery' if it was over £50 - or she doesn't have to refund you technically. You will lose the cost of the return postage alas.
| |
Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:12 - Dec 3 with 870 views | dune | I am not sending it back. The money isn't the issue, it's the principle of the thing. She will either refund me under my terms or I will go out of my way to take this matter to the authorities. I'm being totally fair in giving her a chance to refund me without further action being taken.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:19 - Dec 3 with 866 views | 1885_SFC | She may well refund your money without you sending the watch back mate. That's between her and you. But eBay state that if you wish to return ANY item - no matter what the value really - you should always return it via a service which is 'tracked'... so that the seller has to sign for the returned item & you can prove it was returned in order to get your money back. My guess is she'll just refund you the cost of the watch & hope you go away. Chances are she knows she's selling duff watches of course & won't want to cause a fuss or alert eBay to her dodgy dealings!

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:23 - Dec 3 with 860 views | dune | It's a bit late. I've already gone through all her listings and reported everything that might be dodgy.
| |
Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:28 - Dec 3 with 854 views | 1885_SFC | Hmmm. I'm guessing in that case that you won't be using that seller again... and she can forget getting a Christmas card from you?

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:33 - Dec 3 with 848 views | SonicBoom | I sympathise but serious, why would you risk buying something like a watch sight unseen from e bay? It must be a reasonable brand to be worth faking. Did you think it was a bargain? Anything that appears to be too good to be true usually is. I'm selling an item on e bay now for about 800. I just got sent a question, asking if I would swap it for a carbon fibre racing bike worth 4k that he hasn't had time to sell. Really? He's prepared to lose 3200 quid. I don't think so.
Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:39 - Dec 3 with 842 views | dune | I've had genuine bargains on eBay before, but yes you're right. I'm just cheesed off that I'm now expected to jump through hoops. I'm not having it.
| |
Hoped I was getting a good deal on 18:40 - Dec 3 with 840 views | dune | Just had a reply... Dear Seller Just put it on the bin and l will refund tomorrow ...... I had a hunch from her listings there was something dodgy going on and she wouldn't want the old bill round her house. That's that sorted. [Post edited 3 Dec 2014 18:45]

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 19:36 - Dec 3 with 767 views | Heisenberg | Threatening to phone the police over a fake watch on eBay. Priceless.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 19:39 - Dec 3 with 760 views | Heisenberg | Dont worry Dune. Without a watch it's unlikely you will be charged with wasting the polices TIME.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 19:39 - Dec 3 with 759 views | dune | It cost me £16 including the postage.

Hoped I was getting a good deal on 22:59 - Dec 3 with 623 views | Boris_ | Charity shops for clothes, eBay for accessories. It's about time we, as Saints fans, stepped up to the mark and set up a JustGiving account in benefit of those less fortunate than us this Christmas, like Dune.
