£4.50 A Pint on 15:53 - Sep 24 with 579 views | TheKraken | Southampton isn't much better these days. Chambers has had a name change to Marshals and are pretending to be a sports bar; with it have thrown up the price of a pint to £4.90.
£4.50 A Pint on 16:45 - Sep 24 with 532 views | pap | Pubs in general are pretty shÃt these days. I spent most of my twenties going to traditional boozers in Liverpool. Remember being impressed at being able to get a round for less than a fiver in the dreaded era of the "two pound pint", 1994 to be precise. Twenty years later, most pubs have gone, the ones that are left aren't really pubs as we knew them. Most are wannabe clubs or restaurants. The ones that actually try to act like pubs can't, because all the scallywags are now concentrated in the few places are left. Shame, because it really did used to be the place to go to get to know your community. Smoking ban and cost have driven people indoors.
