Coming home for the Southampton game and would like to take my folks out for dinner. Any recommendations of nice places to eat? A mate mentioned La Parrilla. Any good?

La Parilla is hit or miss, with a poor booking system. Bouchon de rossi is usually pretty good.

Does it have to be in Swansea?, the Great House in Laleston, Bridgend is really nice as well.

La Parilla is nice (as in consistently good), but very over priced and nowhere near the best in Swansea. Depends which cuisine you want.

If you like French Cuisine try the Pantygwydr in Oxford Street

Heard good things about Didier and Stephanie on St Helens Rd too. It gets the Wilfried Bony seal of approval too.

Some good eateries in Uplands these days.

Consistently good, really, both me and mrs had the lunch time 2 course deal and the starter of mushrooms in some sauce was tasteless and the main meal of baked haddock and chips the haddock was over cooked and the chips had been reheated, never again for us.
We went to the Grape and Olive last january for lunch that was over priced, but the food was very good.

+1 Had some really nice meals there.

Gallinis is also very nice.

I always go to Vesuvio pre match, food is ok rather than brilliant and priced accordingly, but obviously close to stadium if that matters. Castellamare brilliant views and nice basic Italian.

Life is an adventure or nothing at all.

The Grape and Olive is worth experiencing once for the views, but I recommend drinks only. The food is average chain pub grub, done pretty poorly and extremely overpriced.

For me (and many others judging by online reviews) Slice in Sketty is by far the best restaurant in Swansea. It's a tiny place and you will definitely need to book, although they may already be full for a Saturday night. I haven't been since Phil and Helen left, but have been told the new owners have kept the standards high.

Agree La Braseria is reliable although somewhat limited menu - everything cooked on the plancha grill. However, good choice of fresh meat/fish, cooked to order. Can't book for fewer than 6 people, so need to get there as the doors open at 7pm to guarantee a table. (Owned by the same people as La Parrilla). Used to love Bouchon de Rossi, although the menu never changed, but last time we tried to book for 7.30pm we were told either 6 or 9, which was no good. By the way, Castellamare in Mumbles is good.

I enjoy Bouchan de Rossi's as well. Always had a really good meal, especially steak.

Never been let down by Bouchon Di Rossi but only ever eaten there in the evenings.

Superb restaurant IMO.

Only been there once. Food was good but way too full. Almost eating on someone else's lap and it was boiling in there, not helped by the Bellwhiff seated near the door insisting the main door stayed shut

As are Voncents and Slice on Eversley Road.
