Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 01:27 - Jul 27 with 2619 views | vectis | Rubbish. Why buy players at all if you're asset stripping? Why invest in any aspect of the club, including corporate and backroom staff? Are all these sales nice? No. Are they preventable? Maybe. If I was a manager would I like nearly £100mil to spend and a chance to more or less build my team from scratch? Yes! I am not a happy saints fan at the moment, but I don't subscribe to the chicken little argument that the sky is falling down. This transfer window isn't shut yet. Can we see who we buy before we start wetting the bed? Can we see what the next wave of academy grads are like before writing the club off completely? Will we sell players next year as well? Probably. This looks likely to be the most successful model for a self-sufficient football club at saints level. Is this unusual? No, from what I have read its the norm in many other leagues in Europe (although admittedly not usually so many players in one go). Calm down and wait and see what happens.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 09:09 - Jul 27 with 2482 views | stmichael | A good response but one that would have meant so much more if it came from the club. This is the point the poster was making. In almost unheard of times any business would want to reassure their customers. They either can't or are treating us with utter contemp. Neither is acceptable.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 09:22 - Jul 27 with 2457 views | BlockRed | What do we need to know that we can't work out for ourselves? The players that are being sold are going to much bigger clubs that are paying much bigger wages and the players are very keen (desperate) to make the moves. So what do Saints do? Refuse to sell and leave RK with an unhappy squad to work with or get as much money (probably more) that they can from the sales and let RK rebuild/remould in his chosen design?
Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 09:27 - Jul 27 with 2439 views | ArthurHucksake | I don't see Everton's best players all asking to leave or Spurs or Stoke's or Newcastle's. Something wrong at your club FACT.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 09:33 - Jul 27 with 2432 views | Boris_ | Everton and Tottenham are in the exclusive top 7 club, each with a realistic chance of getting in the top 4. Stoke do not have any decent young English players that the big clubs want, to satisfy their English player quota, nor do Newcastle. Something is definitely wrong at your club, you just got tonked 3-0 by Ebbsfleet. [Post edited 27 Jul 2014 10:55]

Either learn to handle your liquor or man up, you big cry baby.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 10:22 - Jul 27 with 2360 views | inthebox | ARE team made a big impression last season, entertained, cuaght the attention of top teams, the England manager, the media waxing lyrical. Agents advise the players to make the most of this crest of a wave and take the opportunity of a big pay day.
Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 10:42 - Jul 27 with 2322 views | bigrob68 | you're totally right, but the daft bellend will never understand and you will just get bogged down for hours on end trying to explain to her.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 13:18 - Jul 27 with 2144 views | dirk_doone | Everton were relegation strugglers and Spurs were just a mid-table team until 2004. Let them be an example to us. As for Man City, they were in the third division in 1999, second division in 2002, finished 15th in 2006, 14th in 2007 and 10th in 2009. It just shows what can be achieved in a few years. The top seven teams are constantly changing. Just a few years ago nobody would have expected Everton or Spurs to replace Blackburn or Newcastle as one of the regular top seven teams. We should aim to be one of them in the future. [Post edited 27 Jul 2014 13:30]

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 13:48 - Jul 27 with 2097 views | Boris_ | What? Tottenham 2 League Championships 8 FA Cups 4 League Cups 2 UEFA Cups 1 Cup Winners Cup Everton 9 League Championships 5 FA Cups Man City 4 League championships 5 FA Cups 4 League Cups Can you not see the difference between the above teams and us? As for Blackburn and Newcastle, Newcastle are a much bigger team then us and Blackburn were bankrolled, the highest spenders in the world at the time... they've now fell back to their natural level. Of course, you are completely missing the point as well, that in the last few years, the top 7 have established themselves and the gap will only get bigger. The league is nothing like it was 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago. A clear gap has been formed and is here to stay.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 14:53 - Jul 27 with 2044 views | redblooded | Maybe those clubs haven't had the top three clubs in the country come knocking with huge amounts of wonga, also they haven't got that good set of players.

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 16:55 - Jul 27 with 1939 views | Boris_ | You're just an oddball that lives in cuckoo land. The Premier League has evolved, it's not the 1980's or the 1990's and the top 7 last season will be the top 7 this season. Would you like to put your money where your bed wetting mouth is? I bet you £100 the top 7 this season will be the same as last season. Deal?

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 17:07 - Jul 27 with 1924 views | dirk_doone | WTF is a bedwetting mouth??? I thought you were supposed to be an adult. What weird babyish world do you exist in? I'll raise you and bet you £1,000 that the top seven won't be the same seven teams for the every one of the next 5 years. This is what you just wrote, Boris, so you should have no problem whatsoever with this bet, should you?: "Of course, you are completely missing the point as well, that in the last few years, the top 7 have established themselves and the gap will only get bigger. The league is nothing like it was 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago. A clear gap has been formed and is here to stay. " Are you prepared to put your money where your mouth is, Boris?

Asset stripped NO STATEMENT on 17:20 - Jul 27 with 1901 views | Boris_ | Check out the FACTS on the other thread, I don't want to be the one to ruin your dreamy little fantasy of Champions league. £100 the top 7 are the same next season. Are you in or out? Don't try and change the bet Dirky. The FACTS show, there is little or no chance of anyone breaking in to that top 7 and even less chance of any team establishing themselves there.
