Looks like Lovren is off then on 19:14 - Jul 20 with 2213 views | TheKraken | That is a good price. Liverpool mate of mine reckons he heard £16M, which would be a bit disappointing in the current market. Just seen that Sunderland have agreed a £14M fee for Borini. £14M, for someone who scored 7 Premier League goals for Sunderland last season. F*ck my life. The transfer market in this country is a joke, it really is.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 19:23 - Jul 20 with 2187 views | solent_toffee | Koponomics. Ever since the shite sold Torres and bought Carroll, every Liverpool transfer has been on the cheap and therefore they are hard done by the other big spenders, giving the media kopite obsessed an excuse when they dont win. Boo hoo.
Looks like Lovren is off then on 19:32 - Jul 20 with 2146 views | sainti | I would like to think that means we have a replacement lined up.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 19:53 - Jul 20 with 2069 views | dirk_doone | £16m for Lovren. We got £3m for Lambert but there were still people saying we got much more. Transfer fees always get exaggerated. But, that also applies to the fees we pay for players. I doubt that we paid as much as £8m for Pellè. He is 29 and Feyenoord only paid £2m for him in 2013. I'll say one thing though: if we manage to make a huge profit in the transfer market this summer and have a team that's as competitive as last season's, we'll have done very well. Saints will be one of the few debt-free clubs in the Premier League. [Post edited 20 Jul 2014 20:16]

Looks like Lovren is off then on 20:38 - Jul 20 with 1953 views | Davethedogged | Lovren moving after complaining not keeping our best players and wants to move to a club that just sold their best player in Suarez, lol I hope we beat them again like last season on Sky and take note of who's on the bench at the start :oP

Looks like Lovren is off then on 21:14 - Jul 20 with 1871 views | grumpy | Look! If these players don't want to play for the club then they should go but get the best price for them. Let the new manager build his own team.
Looks like Lovren is off then on 21:41 - Jul 20 with 1795 views | Davethedogged | Agreed... get rid of the dead minds and have ppl passionate about playing for the club.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 21:50 - Jul 20 with 1776 views | dirk_doone | Koeman can build his own team entirely from scratch with no players left over from the previous manager to worry about. He probably sees it as a great opportunity. Pompey start with a new team every season so I don't see why we can't. It could all go tits up but it might also be the start of a new trophy winning era. We are certainly due one of them. Let's be realistic, professional footballers are passionate about their own careers, not the clubs they play for, unless they have always been a fan of that particular club, and even then, advancing their own career would still take precedence. We should buy Danny Ings if we want a Saints fan playing for us. Why on earth should a professional footballer from Serbia or Hereford or anywhere be passionate about spending his whole career playing for Southampton Football Club??? Even Luke Shaw, possibly the greatest beneficiary of our Academy, wasn't. Get real. [Post edited 30 Aug 2014 18:16]

Looks like Lovren is off then on 21:55 - Jul 20 with 1754 views | montecristo | I admire the positivism but give me a break whats happened to Saints over the last 6 months is enough to turn me to drink..wheres all the ambition gone??
Looks like Lovren is off then on 21:56 - Jul 20 with 1752 views | kingslandstand1 | So what happened to all this nothing less that 20 mill bollocks then?

Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:01 - Jul 20 with 1740 views | dirk_doone | As you say, it was bollocks, but the Club still made a decent profit on him. His fee will probably pay for at least four of our new first team players.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:03 - Jul 20 with 1732 views | kingslandstand1 | Well we're on our way to being the richest club in the prem so lets see whether we can attract a few decent guys that want to play for the club to win trophies. But you are right Monte, it's criminal that so much should have gone the way it has that there must have been something being said from within to absolutely rip the heart out of the team and spirit that on the outside seemed to be there
Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:15 - Jul 20 with 1702 views | dirk_doone | Curiously, even though I was one of the people who complained most bitterly about the sales of Lambert, Lallana & Shaw, I feel that we have a better chance now of winning the FA Cup or League Cup. Koeman has a better record in cup competitions than Pochettino had, and the older players he is bringing in, like Pelle, will view winning a trophy at this stage of their career as something that really matters. We might slide down the league a bit (and even that is not guaranteed) but a cup win is what really counts for a club like ours. I'm not sure that building a team of youngsters to be sold for profit was ever the right approach to trying to win trophies. It seems we have a new approach to team building now. I still regret the sale of Lambert though.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:21 - Jul 20 with 1682 views | Davethedogged | Ambition? How many clubs in recent years have progressed as far and as fast as we have? How much more could we have done? How many clubs have given young players a chance to play in the premier league on a regular basis and get considered for England? The problem doesn't lie with club, the problem lies with the players and the ppl that advise them. There is not a lot any club can do to keep a player that wants to leave, maybe put it off a year. Ronaldo : Man Utd to Real Madrid Gareth Bale : Tottenham to Real Madrid Suarez : Liverpool to Barcelona The big clubs have got the power to persuade "one more season" What I like about our mentality is we are not getting bullied to sell on the cheap because we have a stable financial set up and don't have to do like we did with Bale and sell cheap because were desperate just to keep the club afloat and let clubs take advantage of that. e.g. Ferdinand cost more than Shaw a decade ago. Good defenders are hard to come by. If anything Shaw is a bargain for Man U if he does well but personally I think Shaw has got a big hurdle to jump mentally otherwise he will go down the same route as Wayne Bridge. A good case for him staying for one more year for his own good not ours.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:37 - Jul 20 with 1653 views | Matt_Finish | Heard a figure of £16m mentioned. Bearing in mind Rodgers just got £18m for Borini he can go f*** himself, which he'd probably enjoy. I say get rid of Lovren and get someone in better. We bought Lovren for £8.5m and should get £20m min so whoever we buy should be a lot better than Lovren. He started off well and is undoubtedly a good player but got pushed over too easily for my liking.
Looks like Lovren is off then on 22:48 - Jul 20 with 1631 views | PatfromPoole | I wouldn't assume that, given the lack of a new LB coming in. I am led to believe that Shaw agreed terms with United before the World Cup without us having agreed a fee with United. Why on earth we didn't drag it out until we had a replacement LB signed up is completely beyond me. Unless they're going to rely on Targett. Seems a big ask to me.

Looks like Lovren is off then on 23:17 - Jul 20 with 1592 views | FrankWhite | So we turned down £20m, which pissed poor old Dejan off, and now we've accepted £16m? They're called mongs for a reason. £22m for a player we paid £8.5m for last summer, bite their fuucking hands off. Lyon fans said he was a coont and they were right.
Looks like Lovren is off then on 23:26 - Jul 20 with 1578 views | gartan | Yes a Coooont of the highest order! Cheerio Dejan and thanks for the payday! just hope we get some quality in.
