He's 28. I suspect he was more concerned about his wedge than who the manager is...

Same with most signings, I suspect. What we won't now get is another Michu type signing for peanuts.

Yep, that's what the holdup probably was - Huw had to go and find a Laudrup lookalike.

Great signing, not that I have ever seen him play, but from reports/records, he looks a good un

Makes you wonder how Garry Monk is going to attract players.

Garry Monk will manage England one day, when he has past his best and is looking for a quick buck!

Newcastle have been trying to sign him since 2008. I'm not surprised the fans are taking the "didn't want him anyway" route.

Just a guess like.

Fair play to Monk and the board its not even July and we have made two cracking signings.

This lad was rated £10 million plus less than a year ago so a superb bit of business again from the club.

Excellent news !

If Bony stays and Michu gets back to 2012-13 form then we're going to rip a few teams a new one this coming season !

C'mon Bony shoot !!!!

In fairness, Michu was a unique combination of a player wanting to move to the PL, his club being in administration and the market significantly undervaluing him meaning he was available at a ridiculously cheap price.

We won't get another MIchu for peanuts and no one else will.

Forget it, thanks anyway, I've looked myself.

From whist I can see, a good player, strong, good in the air, puts his laces through the ball, turns well and knows where the net is.

However, I can't see him and Bony on the pitch at the same time unless we play two similar, almost identical style players in a two up front formation.

Ok, it is only YouTube but........

Fair comment - he was an exceptional signing.

The "market" however, was made up of other managers and chairmen...

brilliant. especially getting this done nice and early.

i wonder how this (and the fabianski signing) will affect the transfer pot. they were both free transfers, but obviously will be on high wages. so, i wonder how much money will be left to spend?
