Your shirt number? 22:03 - May 23 with 1987 viewsTNT

If you were playing in a football match and given a free choice of shirt number, which would you choose?

NSR?

Well, would you be influenced by a current / past favourite Swans player of yours when choosing your shirt?

I would do my best to get the no. 8 shirt in '76 because of Robbie James, and always tried to do so thereafter, even when the traditional (limited?) 1 - 11 starting line-up went up into the 20's, 30's, 40's. Still no.8 for me.

69 for me it reminds of a girl I met behind the North Bank in the 80s.

No 9 for me. Either that or on the wing (either side). In these days mind I could also aspire to be a full back.

... or is that when full back meant full back, Airedale mate?

always played centre forward for years...always wore number 3 shirt...no idea how that started really, but that was my number and was known for it locally...watch out for the number 3!

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Your shirt number? on 00:08 - May 24 with 1817 viewsTNT

That no.3 will be because of Danny Bartley mun!

Or Michael Howard?

Can't think of a Swans Centre Forward who wore 3, but Gary Moore could've had a go.

To be fair, Michael Howard was responsible for as many goals as any no.9

Can't argue with that!

Pat McQuillan would push him for that accolade mind.

Pat scored one of the most embarrassing own goals at Brighton back in the day to be fair.

Wyndham Evans or Angel Rangel?

Both good players, seen more of Rangel's play and it's the kind I prefer backs to play, wingbacks.

Agree mate.

Wyndham was a 'hard JB', that no-one passed, yet made occasional forays down the flank.

Angel offers more going forward in the more modern game.

2 or 22?

3 was always my number, started off at left back. Over the years I morphed from left back to left wing and finally central midfield. I played in every position, including two stints in goal, but 3 was always my number.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Played centre half mainly, but had the occasional spell in midfield, always liked having the number 4 shirt. Although I had to play a season as a sweeper one year so insisted having the no 10 shirt, (a la Mattheus for Germany I think) our striker wasn't too happy though!

Huw Jenkins... Nuff said!
