Is it just me or is this a ridiculous, desperate move?
This contract, worth 300k a week, is 5 and a half years long, taking him to around the age of 34.
IMO he has not become the player he could have been and for that sort of money they could surely get better, ok Messi or Ronaldo probably not but surely Cavani, Falcao or Lewandowski would be within reach, ok a large transfer fee would be a factor but if Man U want to challenge for trophies any time soon then they need that kind of quality.

For me it's a case of, he's not worth that, it puts him up there with Messi, Ronaldo and he's not in their league, I don't think he's anywhere near Bale either. But if you don't pay it and he goes, then he'll probably go to City or Chelsea and could hurt United even more, so if you've got it, which they have, then pay it. | |

£300,000 a week is top level, World's best player money. He ain't that. Nowhere near. Very, very good when he puts his mind to it, but not up there with the best.
