They just came off a Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday, with no game until next Saturday. I see nothing sinister in giving them a day off on Monday. In my opinion, any manager or coach worth his salt will know when his team needs an extra day of rest. And on this, I won't second guess Laudrup.
If he had wanted them to train on Monday, it would have been a no-brainer to have his assistants take it for a day.
Most professional athletes would use part of that day for a light workout to stay loose. Or not. | |
