I think it's a myth that it needs an overhaul. We made that mistake last time we went up when we all said Derry, Hill, Mackie, Helguson were no good.
Green, Murphy, Simpson, Dunne, Onouha, BAE, Traore, Barton, Faurlin, Krancjar, Phillips, Austin would all be fine in the PL. Throw in a returning Granero who may be a different kettle of fish this time around plus Hoilett, O Neil and Henry to offer cover and perhaps Remy and it's clear this squad wouldn't need an overhaul.
However.....

Thats just one season as well.... I'm sure Harry will sign around 15 players this summer knowing him evern though as many have pointed out... our squad is good and with a couple of savvy additions can compete. We need to change the team gradually as every other team does, not get hundreds of news additions... Look at QPR before and look at Sunderland this season...
If we don't sign BAE, I would be tempted with Fabio again. I thought his injury last time was a big factor in our disappointing performance that year.(amongst other things). l think we can squeeze another season out of Hill and Dunne, Onouha and Simpson definitely. I know its another Fulham player but Steve Sidwell would be useful with Barton. matt Philips would cut it in the prem and I would like to see Traore on the left more often, I think he could make the difference this half of the season and beyond. Andy Johnson is frustrating as if he's injury free he's a great player. I think a no nonsense center forward like Austin would do a job in the premier league, with Remy. With a couple of more additions i definitely think we can have a proper go at it this time...If we get there.!

The lower end of the Premier League is so weak that I'm sure we'd at least be competitive with the squad we have already. We'd need some pace in the defence and a quality midfielder or too but anyone telling me Hull, palace, Cardiff, Stoke or Norwich (among others) are heaps better than us hasn't been watching the EPL this year. Getting there will be harder than staying there.
