Brentford v Blackpool Preview

Two games unbeaten for Lee Clark's side but four games without a win is the real stat. If Blackpool had won the last four games then they'd be knocking on the door to safety which shows that it can be done, however the chances of the Seasiders putting together a four game unbeaten run are as likely as Jeffrey Rentmeister being the next presenter of Top Gear. Another tough away trip takes 'Pool to Griffin Park where they face a Brentford surprise who have been one of the surprise packages in the Championship this season and could well end up in the top tier next season if they're form continues.

Tom Aldred can come back into Blackpool's ranks after serving a one-game suspension. The defender was dismissed on his debut during the 4-4 draw with Nottingham Forest and sat out as the Seasiders claimed another point against Blackburn at Ewood Park on Saturday. Fellow defender Darren O'Dea (ankle) has declared himself fit but on-loan full-back Niall Maher (groin) was subbed at the weekend and boss Lee Clark admits he may struggle to fill a bench at Brentford. Andrea Orlandi (thigh), Steven Davies (illness), Mark Waddington (foot), Nyron Nosworthy (illness), Saer Sene and Islam Feruz (both knocks) all missed out at the weekend so 17-year-old Bright Samuel, who was on the bench on Saturday just hours after playing 90 minutes for the youth team, could be among the replacements again.

Brentford have no new injury worries. Right-back Alan McCormack (ankle) and midfielder Alan Judge (knee) both made their comebacks from injury lay-offs as the Bees got back to winning ways by beating promotion rivals Bournemouth 3-1 on Saturday. January signing Lewis Macleod is also close to fitness after a hamstring injury which has delayed his debut following his move from Rangers. Left-back Jake Bidwell is still suspended and Scott Hogan remains a long-term absentee as he continues to recover from a cruciate injury, but fellow striker Chris Long is available after extending his loan spell from Everton.

Another game where the points needed for safety could grow ever larger and Clark will know that the Fat Lady will be gargling just in case.
