millwall match tread ?

Did not think we played to bad in the end, the Korean looks useful, thought we looked better after the subs. At the end of the day defence and keeper have cost us the game today.

Back to back losses but more worryingly is the goals against. Need to tighten up at the back again

I'd imagine it was Dunne's decision, they dont get to bid stage if the players reps have not indicated they might be interested.

gotta say but Nardi should be saving the first and tip the 2nd over the bar, though Fox asleep both times really poor footwork and balance

We look dangerous down the right and in danger down our left. I think Paal has done Ok but Field and Fox pretty poor IMHO. Lloyd gives us threat in behind but nothing is sticking to his feet

At the end of the day he will get more money, maybe a promotion under his belt and possibly some premiership games. He’s not going to turn it down. But let’s be honest 18 months ago he was a bit part player, 3 months ago we would have said 5th choice centre back. Like most of the team he had a poor start. He has been sensational in the last few months as he was in the last few months of last season.

It’s a huge shame but it is what it is, FFP means we can’t hand out big contracts Willy nillly and not all at the same time. It’s why we do them in Jan.

Cards on the table, live near the flight path. My understanding is that it won't be until the end of the parliament before they are able to actually put anything through so we are talking at least a decade before this happens. I get the view this is less about Heathrow and more about driving inward investment through optics by showing foreign investors they are ploughing ahead with changes to planning.

If they were being overtly political as the right would often be they shooting for Gatwick where are far more Tory / Lib Dem constituencies dont be surprised if they flip to that come the end of the parliament

I think it was a Mark Warburton interview which talked about how clubs will sometimes take a player on loan from a premiership club in order to get a signing in the next transfer window. I think this is about building relationships with Tottenham and giving us first dibs on potential future releases or rising stars in positions we might need to strengthen next year

He could play the Bannon role and the set pieces would be a hell of a lot better. But no its too disruptive and would change the way we play

Team selection for next match

Question is whether Edwards can play on the left. I think we need Cook back because the on-field leadership yesterday was poor particularly in the back line where we needed to be more direct as our tactics through the press were not working.

Chair is an interesting conundrum. He gives us so much. more defensively. But the 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 formation does not suit as he needs someone to help him get into space to be effective. Morgan is going to the right. Field to the left. The whole left side from Fox, Paal, Field and Chair struggled to get Chair into the position to be an attacking threat because none of them are particularly good passers (missing JCS there) . Not helped by a poor display from Frey. In the 4-2-3-1 or the 3-4-2-1 Chair has better passers and a 10 to play off to work the space. Chair will be more effective IMHO with Colback and Kolli on the pitch but not sure that is right for Millwall

1st half was a stalemate, I think we expected them to play 3 at the back and both teams set up for a mid block. Game was far more suited to Kolli than Frey, especially as we were not prepared to go long. Our left side was dysfunctional all game, Fox, Paal, Field and Chair. As good as I Thought Paal was at Hull Patterson out muscled him and he was very poor today.

2nd half game went how I thought it might, Morgan tired Bannon took over again. Colback weakened us in midfield. Lloyd was the wrong choice IMHO. We looked very leggy especially Dunne and Smyth and the goal came from a tired Dunne mistake.

I dont think our game smarts were great today especially the back 4 and the goal kicks, it clearly was not working and even Marti was screaming at them to go more direct and we kept playing ourselves into trouble or giving the ball away poor leadership from Fox at the back for me.

Run was always going to come to an end, I thought 2-0 Wednesday before the game, they are a bogey team for us and Marti.

If I was him I would be wanting assurances re Marti's future. Keep going anywhere like we are and I dont see Marti here next season unless we are promoted.

Fox and Edwards tomorrow. Morrison on for the last ten minutes maybe would not be surprised if Cook not even on the bench gonna be some "names" that won't be making the squad soon because Kolli, Lloyd and Morgan have cemented those spots

Strange game played seemingly on a farmers recently ploughed field. I thought Morgan was terrific, Fields worse game for sometime (every pass was backwards!)but looked like we were on for a draw at best and possibly a loss until the subs changed the game. Well deserved goal for Paal who has hit form since the return of Chair whose defensive work often goes unnoticed. Great 2nd half from Varane as well. Lloyd caused carnage and Saito had his best minutes for the club and they will get the plaudits however we defended really well and ultimately I have to give MOTM to ... Christian Nourry.

Because that 1st Jan deal to bring in Ronnie Edwards won us that game today. JCS out again we would have had to start with Dunne and Ashby (who has fallen off a cliff since Xmas). He was superb as was Fox as was Dunne as was Paal

Marti did one of those quick fire interviews for social media for the coaches voice. They asked which player he has managed that would be most suited to management. Without hesitation he said Sam Field

Re Chair - His final ball, shooting and dead balls were off and he looks short on confidence. But the number of times he won the ball back of Plymouth through his reading of the game should not be missed. The goal was entirely down to him reading that situation, he did not run to challenge the player he positioned himself to exactly where there player was going to turn to. Still had the gumption after having the shot saved (and it was on target and not that bad) to lay it off and get yet another assist.

Paal has been 100% better since he has been back too

Great result, much harder than it needed to be, sinking to their level at times but just a bit better. Another day that is 0-0 but it was a bit of class from Kolli that makes the difference. 6/10 for everyone bar Kolli and head and shoulders MOTM Jimmy Dunne.

Colback very off the pace still.

Think this one of those that will bite us on the bum. I think the entire front four have been below par, Smyth has caused trouble but decision making not as it's been in recent weeks.

Plymouth definitely have a goal in them. Expect to see Colback quite early and Varane benched like to see Kolli after 60. Frey not massively effective today

Watch the Coaches voice with Marti for some good insight he calls it 4-3-3 but at particular stages on the pitch it's 4-1-4-1. No 10 in this system
