So reading this, next accounts will include Colback etc, but after that we should see a noticeable reduction in wages as their expired contracts feed through.
We do seem to be heading in the right direction, and fair play to Nourry who has at least put a plan regarding player development back at the heart of the club, which can only help us financially. |

Morgan was playing 10 until Chair was switched inside against Blackburn. Morgan played 8. I think it was our best performance of the season.
Morgan has not started since and Varane/Field and Colback have had turns starting.
I don't think the issue is with Chair at 10, it's what is behind him. But, as you said, it will take time to fix. I'm hoping Harvey Vale is the 8 we need, along with Morgan. |

Sorry, not the next set, I meant the ones after when Colback, Cook etc have left.
Next years accounts won't be good, but after we should be in a better position.
Also, we all new it was not going to look pretty, but I feel a little more confident that the club is heading in the right direction. |

I imagine ours will drop significantly over the next 18 months.
It's also a reason why none of those out of contract in the summer will be offered new deals. |

I'm not sure MC should go back to Morgan at 10. At some point the team has to develop into the style the manager wants, but more importantly, Nourry wants.
Nourry wants the team to play a certain way, and I'm pretty sure it won't include Field or Varane at 8 or Morgan at 10.
Personally, I think the 3 x little people should continue away from home. It's that 6/8 axis that is causing the problems, and hopefully that can be addressed in the summer. |

I would go as far to say that the Madsen failure has cost us a play off spot.
I thought we were getting a Sander Berge type, dominant ball player who would be a real focal point and threat. Maybe not.
Unfortunately he may well go down as our worst signing ever due to us having no money, and then splashing it on him. Big question as to who authorised that purchase. |

Won't improve playing Field and Varane together. Neither can pass forward or technically good enough.
Same team that played against Blackburn at home played against Portsmouth with just one change. Morgan for Varane. Totally different team performance.
Morgan can take the ball on the turn, drive forward, press, pass forward. Only 18 though so needs to be managed. Harvey Vale could play 8 next season, where a lot of Chelsea fans said is his best position.
Will Alfie Tuck step up?
I know some will say that playing away is different, but good teams are brave. I think Marti will change it next season, but for now we have to make do.
The good thing is it is obvious what the issue is and it is being addressed, but until then I'll always have Sam Field passing to Jude the Cat. 🤣 |

"Brave balls into midfield were ignored." And will continue to be until that central midfield is fixed.
Blackburn at home, and what I think has been our best performance of the season, had exactly the same starting 11 as against Portsmouth with one change. Morgan in for Varane.

I'll bite.
(I) we have up to 9 of the squad today leaving in May, 6 of which started today.
(Ii) it takes time get them all working as a team. See this season.
(Iii) in 18 months the 18 year olds that have already been purchased for the DS plus the new back line that has to be purchased will be integrated.
We are not 4 or 5 players away from playoffs, loads more. We are 2/3 seasons away.
The manager is not the problem, it's the players at his disposal. |

Forget next season. The whole back line today is currently leaving come May so we have to replace them plus JCS.
That is 6 new defenders to bring in and get playing together. |

If you can't pass and keep the ball, then you are asking to get beaten.
I'm not sure why people appear surprised by this performance or result. We are not a good footballing team, and we do not dominate teams home or away. See the stats versus Derby last week.
We just have to see this season out, but there is yet another big summer rebuild coming, which will mean yet another season of mediocrity.
This doesn't bother me. We'll be pushing for promotion in 2 years, but this is our crappy level for the next 12 months. |

I think we've improved a bit, but it is built on sand and that is why I don't get excited by 4-0 wins against third bottom Derby.
Our midfield is fckin awful. And QPR should not be playing like a 1980s Wimbledon tribute act. |

But the worry is that we mirrored Portsmouth in style.
There is zero quality in our central midfield, and that is why we hoof it over them. Its really poor and it won't change until it is fixed in the summer.
I suspect Harvey Vale will play 8. |
