Barry Davies was best showing genuine passion and the lack of the John Motsons need to smoother the the commentaries with statistics, despite the admiration Davies gave the Leeds side when commentating over the 7-0 thrashing in the early 1970's. Best pieces of commentary have to be from Ken Wolstenholme describing the last Brazilian goal in the 1970 World Cup Final and the Geoff Hurst 1966 goal. |

Thanks for the reminder. My first two games, aged 8, were the Ipswich away mauling 7-0 followed by the thrashing 6-2 Derby County. My memories from the latter include the white boots worn by Alan Hinton and the extra long hair of Eric Martin. I was a bit of a jinks for seasons and it wasn't until Easter 1978, Luton away, that the curse was finally lifted
