I hope this is and stays just a rumour.

Is it too early for QPR to be making new signings?

I'm not asking because I'm rabid - more in the hope of getting any clues as to whether Marti is laying down some foundations of his own

General Election Thread

I have read and heard many people say "They're all the same". I've seen countless instances of people saying they don't trust the Labour leader of the day, and it's always slightly done my head in.

Not digging at you - but what is it exactly that Starmer has said or done the means you don't trust him? What do you think he's lying about or hiding? On the flip side - what did Boris Johnson do to earn your trust when you voted for him last time? He seems to me to be entirely untrustworthy for lots of well publicised reasons, the list of which begins before he even became our Mayor.

I personally want a moderate, left of centre party with a serious person as the main representative of the country I live in. My sensibilites are a little more left leaning than the Labour Party currently are, but I understand they are trying to take traditional right of centre voters along for the ride too, and any step back towards the centre ground is a step in the right direction to me.

Joey Barton

I definitely preferred Left wing, indie kid era Joey Barton, but he strikes me as someone who just burns bridges wherever he feels like he's not the main man.

Divisive in the dressing room as a player
Disappointing as a manager
No one interested in taking him on a pundit.

He's running out of road.

Yes, saw it in the West End a couple of months ago. Enjoyed it too.

I thought Joseph Fiennes was brilliant as Gareth Southgate especially.

Didn't deserve to lose that

Really enjoyed watching Sinclair Armstrong today. Apart from one finish where his first touch let him down, he caused them plenty of problems. Ran his socks off, and had the Loft on their feet plenty in the second half. Thought his performance deserved a goal really. If we are to go down and hold onto him, a season of tearing it up against league 1 defenders could do his career wonders.

Will raise a glass this evening, and loads of glasses at the Pogues Tribute act at the Irish Centre in a couple of weeks.

RIP Shane MacGowan.

I hear Sir Les is without a club too. Maybe get him in on a pay as you play?

"Our Rangers Back"

I remember being pretty much content throughout Warburton's tenure. Even when we were rubbish. I was genuinely gutted when he left - I would have been content with sticking with him, finsihing 9-15th each season, trusting that we'd have a play off push every few years.

It was more entertaining than not, and he was a great representative of the club. And we weren't a circus.

Genuinely content as QPR fan mostly treading water in the Championship, with a manager I admire, and a team that on their day is match for any team in their league with a proper no10.

Is it worth taking the drop
at 10:10 10 Apr 2023

I’m sure I remember threads like this rationalising getting relegated far in advance of it being inevitable while we were in the Premier League. 10 or so years on, I’d say it hasn’t gone brilliantly.

Send the loans back
at 18:15 15 Feb 2023

I'm sure I read the following sentiment somewhere else recently, but I do agree with it - We will need loans in future. If the club were to make the current crop the scapegoats in all this then I'm not sure there'll be many clubs wanting to send their players to us in future.

Ethan Laird for example is quality, just not at the moment.

As much as i thought Mick Beale had a touch of the David Brent about him, he got the team playing well more often than not.
I don't believe that he's the only manager capable of getting them playing well, and i don't believe that NC is the reason they are playing badly, but I have no idea how you turn this group of players back into a team

Loftus Road.
at 13:26 11 Feb 2023

Not sure if I got my point across, but I’m basically saying that having the ground in White City or Shepherd’s Bush is too tight a parameter to give the owners much chance of delivering a stadium that secures the club’s future.

Me, and 95% of my school mates all moved away from the Bush. The house I grew up (an average terraced house off the Uxbridge Road) is now worth £1.5m quid on Zoopla and I’m guessing, not the ideal breeding ground for fans of mid-table Championship football.

If we could find somewhere 30 minutes on public transport from Loftus Road, we be doing well I reckon

Loftus Road.

I really feel for QPR on this front.

I don't think Loftus road is fit for purpose, and arrive to games as late as possible having being in one of the many good pubs in Shepherds Bush.

Bolton, or Derby or Brighton or Preston or Boro (and on and on) can just move to another part of their city and still have the same identity. Our identity is fixed to W12, one of the most expensive places on the planet per square foot.

I would personally understand if we ended up moving further out, and as long as it's located near a station into central London, has enough pubs and places to eat after the game, and is worth getting into the stadium nice and early with adequate facilities - would be quite excited. I'd more likely be able to rope my kids into it in a more modern stadium

Sheephaven bay is really close to Koko - good Irish boozer.

If you are a rocker - The Black Heart down near Camden Town Tube is good fun too.

I was just thinking he'll end up here one day.

Really dislike him from all that i have seen, but could also imagine doing quite well under him and all of a sudden not finding him to be so much of a prat.

I Just want him gone now.

We've got a good little squad here, there's no reason we can't still push for the playoffs.... unless we decide to loan our best to Celtic for the rest of the season.
