Bearing in mind there were boos at half time of the second home game of the season! There is a huge percentage of people now that don't support the shirt or the team,and wouldn't be in the ground if we weren't in the Prem.Some of these mindless plastic fans will boo Van Dyke and justify it with the fact that they have paid their money so they have the right to express their view!!...regardless for how that effects the team...it's the same crowd that walk out on 83mins every week ,for reasons that I will never understand! Bringing him on against Palace was a political move, to see how the fans reacted, not a football move..why did we need 3 centre halves at that stage of the game...I hope they don't gamble with him against Utd. Not only from the crowd point of view,but he clearly isn't match fit anyway!! |

Agree bstokesaint hasn't looked happy last half dozen games.In fact since he came back off England duty.A bit Lallana like really. Thought Sam Mcqueen looked as though he could do the job given game time.Got forward well,and Prem defending comes with experience. If Bertrands head has gone,let him go,thank him for all he's done and make a profit! Having said all that would prefere it if he stayed and played like we know he can...will the change of manager make a difference?? |

I'd be amazed if the club hasn't already got a replacement in place, surely that's what the delay has been about. But I'm not sure what qualifies us to attract any of the top European manager that are available??...and why the board will be letting us down if we don't get one?? Hopefully it will be Tuchel..who sounds exciting. However.. how long will we keep any decent manager (or player) when no matter how well they are doing there are 5000 empty seats on 85 minutes? |

53% possession..17 shots...6 on target....against a top 6 side...that's got to be worth booing at the end of the game?? Do we have the worst fans in the league? Strange though last night, the fans around us in the Kingsland that normally leave around 82 mins stayed until nearly the 90th minute. I've come to the conclusion these people are armchair top 6 side TV fans who have to come to St Mary's disguised as Saints fans, to see these teams live as we're their closest Prem club.
What ever happened to supporting your club through "thick and thin?" (And I wouldn't call this thin). I think I'd rather be amongst a 25k crowd that supports the team week in week out, than than the moaning 82 minute crowd we have at the moment.
Yes , things could be better on the field... some of Puels team selections and substitutions could be better... would it have been a different season if we hadn't lost Virgil and Charlie for a long period? Possibly?
But Personally a cup final (which we deserved to win) and a top 10 finish 4th year in a row ain't too bad! |
