I do feel a little resigned to relegation this year and it is purely down to there just not being any goals in the team, and for a lot of the season it has been pretty difficult to work out what our plan is to try and score the two we tend to need to win a game. If we are to go down, I do hope they get rid of Nourry and Belk as they are surely hugely culpable for where we find ourselves - but they won't get rid of me. Been going QPR since I was 6 and it has rarely been because we're brilliant or doing well. Just a part of who I am, and lots of friendships that are based around the club like so many others. We are of course only 5 points adrift, and there are 31 games to go but I do struggle to see how we are going to score the goals to survive and negate our seemingly unerring knack to clear the ball straight to the opposition and concede a la Cook yesterday and so many others this season. Gone for the 1-0 win in the Prediction League, it's why I never finish in the top 6 pages. |

My neighbours offered me their season tickets over Christmas - had to point to the empty seats next to and behind me and say we can't even get our season ticket holders to turn up. Tough times. |

Interesting - from my seat in the Lower School End it seemed a pretty decent atmosphere. Lots of anxiety sure but we came through louder than usual. Did pick up a bit more after the red admittedly. |

Great name as well in Ben Toner. He's the one they had to switch out from reffing the first Blackpool game with fans back after the boycott under Oyston right? Lino in front of the Paddocks was shocking all game though! |

Really enjoyed Varane's performance today - we have definitely seen hints of it to date but he is rapid over a few yards and already accustomed to the physicality. Am really excited by Morgan if he can play like this at 18. Very early days but hope we get to see what he is like after 50 games, 100 games and so on as Clive has spoken about masterfully about with other youngsters in the team. Hope to god we can get that first win of the season on Tuesday night! |

It has been on my list to try out for a while - am in the middle of marathon training atm so long episode podcasts might be just the thing. Reading John Man's "the Mongol Empire" at the moment which is a brilliant read so may have to check out the Genghis Khan series to go along with it. |

Bit of a history nerd and use various podcasts for my long runs. The big hitters such as Empire and the Rest is History are both great, and fully accessible to us non-historians. Ear Hustle is another fantastic podcast - started out as a project in San Quentin hosted by inmates and has expanded into other jails across the US. Incredibly insightful - and bound to give you a resentment against the US prison industrial complex. The episode where the main presenter gets released a few seasons in had me in absolute bits. Really worth your time. |

Dan Shittu for me - remember meeting him and being amazed at the sheer scale of him when I was a teen. Michy Frey is up there though! |

An absolute joy of a cricketer. With Root at 4 and Brook at 5 it should be a good 2-3 years for us. Brook has had an absolutely unreal start and looks almost as natural a batter as Root has done for so many years. One to treasure while he is still playing - and he looks fit as a fiddle still and full of hunger to score runs. Think I saw he is now older than Cook was when he retired. |

I thin Varane was certainly a thick orange card, and refs are within their rights to give those. He was careering out of control and was just a silly flash of the moment type of situation. I actually quite like Varane - people seem dead set against him but he's mobile and does a lot of stuff well. His break forward was criminal however in that first half. Thought the Smyth goal should have stood too - that was just a weak ref giving the easy decision. So many Travis types in the Championship - we still seem to refuse to play like that which I both support but also sometimes wish we were a bit more gitty. Bar WBA, and the first half versus Sheff Utd, we have not been overpowered and completely outplayed at all this season - it is miles away from where we were last season and can't see us going on a six game losing streak from here as per last year. Chair coming back, I think, is going to make a huge difference - we really miss his ability to make the ball stick and allow players to get out. I like Dembele and Saito but they do not have his strength and ability to shield the ball and of course are yet to be proven quality Champ players like Illy! Still think we'll finish between 10th and 14th this year. Would love to break the monotony of 9 years without breaking the top 10 but can't see the goals as many have said. |

Nabers looked good on debut - always exciting to have a highly rated WR pick joining the team, not had an excellent WR since ODJ which is going back some. Barkley a big loss to the Big Blue. |

Already looking like a long, frustrating season for those of us of a Giants persuasion. Really should have married an American that supported a better team. Ah well. |
| Forum Reply | Madsen at 21:07 1 Sep 2024
Already resigned that, regardless of how good he turns out to be, there are going to be those going after him as he is so languid in the way he moves about the place. Haven't a clue how he'll turn out ultimately like so many of the new guys but there are always those who can't see past the glidey way players like Madsen get on with things. Of course, if they're no good it's a huge liability. It is an extreme example but it's like the small percentage of fans who screamed forever about Eze being lazy (not comparing Madsen to Eze!) Similar to that most QPR of traits that saw us not vote for Taarabt as SPOTY! |

Isn't Dembele's transfer already set for next year at 2.2m? Please don't tell me he's not definitely ours, I'm already in love. |

Worked perfectly on my phone tonight Sorry to hear you had a bad experience - frustrating. |

Are these all spam accounts of the same sad two blokes endlessly digging out players on here? Celar today Good link up play as part of the goal Held the ball up a couple of times Put in a wicked cross with his left foot - didn't know he had that Got in space from a set piece (admittedly should have at least worked the keeper a bit to one of the corners) Lots there to be positive about as others have said. |
