Well the OP predicted it perfectly. I'd say connell to start the match threads for the rest of the season then! We smashed it in the penalties. Four great penalties from the Rs. Well done lads. We definitely looked second best during the 90 minutes though. Too many stretches when we couldn't put together anything in the oppositions half. There is plenty of talent on display but they need an offseason to gel. Doing that during the season is always risky. On to tomorrow's cup draw. URRRRRRRRRRRRsss!!! |

It’s good business for us because he was awful and we got some money for him. I would’ve happily taken two bags of crisps and a packets of polos for him. A striker who doesn’t score is just taking up space |

I saw an article that said we have agreed a 3.75M (Euros) transfer fee for Madsen from KVC Westerlo. I really don't know what to make of that as I've never heard of the player and I cannot imagine where we got that kind of money (even if it is amortized, etc.) Edited post to add the following: Madsen is Danish and KVC Westerlo are Belgium. And, Wikipedia already has him as a QPR player (and wikipedia wouldn't lie, would it?) Anyone? [Post edited 21 Aug 18:43]

So, it turns out that I am a relatively new fan. Who knew? My first game was in the Spring of 1973. We beat Spurs 3-1, with Stan scoring twice and I was hooked. 50 years of misery and disappointment later, still hooked. URRRRRRRRRRsss!!! |

So Dembele and Koki Saito both appear to be wingers. That would mean that we would have three tasty wingers to choose from each week. Nice. Dembele was born in Lambeth. |

For what its worth, Wikipedia already says that QPR signed a deal for Dembele in August 2024. There is nothing on the offish yet though, so I won't believe it until it is listed on the offish Also, for what it's worth, Wikipedia has nothing about us and Koki Saito. To be fair, it doesn't say too much about the lad, although Wikipedia lists him as a midfielder (not a striker, as in the article). In his career he has a total of 25 goals in 152 appearances, not really striker numbers. |

Wait ... question for the OP: Is this a friendly roll call for people going to Tottenham? or is it a Roll Call for the Tottenham friendly? I'm hoping its the first. I just really like the idea of a friendly roll call. It sounds like something that might happen at a really progressive nursery school up in Belsize Park!! Sorry ..... talk amongst yourselves ... |
| Forum Reply | Bad eggs? at 21:50 19 Jul 2024
Rather than considering Armstrong and Willock as bad eggs (as such), I'd guess Marti recognized the two of them as underproducing assets that will never be as valuable as this offseason and who could provide us with the resources to bring in fresh talent Armstrong: we all loved him when he burst onto our little scene with his strength and speed, scaring the fck out of defenders. But we all recognize that that was as far as it ever went. The defenders were scared but there was never a good cross or a good shot, just speed and potential. And 4 goals in 60 games is Connor Washingtonian Willock: Who the hell knows what happened to him. He has god-given talent up the wazoo, but at least in the last season or two we only ever saw it in short bursts and the the other 87 minutes a game Willock was invisible. I wish both players the best and will be hoping (but not necessarily expecting) that both will have Eze-like success elsewhere. Bring on Zan and anyone else Marti discovers!! URRRRRRRRRRRRRRsss! |
