One of the biggest shames in football is teenage lads being dragged out of school, handed millions of pounds, told they're going to be the next big thing, and then more often than not dumped in their mid 20s, with no education, having been given no guidance on what to do with that money.
This lad always sticks in my mind. Bang average footballer, played non league his whole life in the end, but as a junior was highly rated in the Sheff Utd academy. Killed some poor bastard on the M1 driving to his loan at Southampton in a super high power Mercedes. What is a teenager with 0 (0) appearances for Sheff Utd doing with a car like that?

Same with Ray Jones. At just 18 years old and only having passed his driving test three weeks previous he should not have been allowed a Golf R32.
I think Alex Ferguson had it in players contracts that whilst at the club they could not have a car more than 2.0 until a certain age (23 or 25 IIRC).

Why do these successful men, who have built up exceptionally successful organisations lose the plot when it comes to football clubs.
So probably 1200 staff who all I am certain help keep the club running and many in hospitality and retail, where the club makes shed loads of money. Get rid of those minions , making the other minions insecure and stressed and worse at their roles due to increasing pressures.
And the 30 men of who maybe 3 are value and the other 27 multi millionaires keep their money and contribute nothing.
Obviously football is like no other business. So many on extreme wages in comparison to the multitudes on minimum wage or slightly above and yet the genius sacks most of the low earners in favour of the highly paid underperforming so called professional sportsman.
No surprise Rashford is performing at Villa. Probably feels wanted, encouraged and given the freedom to express himself on the pitch. The shackles are off.
Currently if you are bog standard premier league player, you are going to choose Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth and Forest above Man Utd.
Ecclestone moaning about the free mineral water bottles in the changing rooms for the players, Briatore getting rid of any player that thought he was a n*b and expressed it, and Fernandes becoming over excited everytime we had the opportunity to sign ironically another Man Utd has-been. We have seen it ourselves, at close quarters.

They don’t though do they? What looks like £millions of losses to us, normal folk, is actually very calculated in a lot of cases.
The Glazers dumped nearly a £billion of debt into United. This has all sort of liquidity and tax benefits which far outweigh the losses they made.
The Saudis at Newcastle. State funded but providing a PR service to cover up dead journalists and influence money can’t buy.
Even our own chaps only used QPR to advertise airplanes in some of the Premiership’s biggest markets in Malaysia and SE Asia. |  | | |
