Meanwhile at Man Utd 17:36 - Feb 24 with 4350 views | bosh67 | https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx28ve6ynydo Is it me or is Jim Ratcliffe completely mad? 200 more staff to be made redundant... "Free lunches will no longer be provided for staff at Old Trafford, saving more than £1m a year" F*ck £1m a year or like two weeks of one of your hideously underperforming team member's wages. Why don't you sack them? Massive saving. "The club's latest financial results showed they spent £14.5m on sacking Erik ten Hag, his coaching staff and former sporting director Dan Ashworth during Ratcliffe's first full season as co-owner." Okay so now I see why you can't feed your remaining staff anymore. Another example of honest working people being thrown under the bus to protect the wealth earning elite. Is this guy some kind of hideous F*ckwit (I know, allegedly) or what? Answers on a postcard please.

Meanwhile at Man Utd on 11:10 - Feb 25 by dm97 | Without wanting to stray into any modern shouting match about politics on the internet, just because someone is very good at running one business does not mean they are therefore good at running all businesses, football clubs, or government agencies (cough cough). Find it amusing that people are able to see this easily with Ratcliffe and not with others. What % of football club owners run their club in a sustainable, successful way? 10%? Less? They’re egotistical billionaires, exploiting the common man is basically their MO |
Ego is the driver for sure. Success in business gives you a nice lifestyle but no one approaches you for a handshake an autograph or a selfie . You dont get to walk around being applauded by thousands , mixing with great players , interviewed in a sport context on TV and radio . Thats why the biggest sanction we as fans have on them is ridicule and embarrassment . Briatore didnt like a bit of gentle booing
Meanwhile at Man Utd on 11:23 - Feb 25 with 1282 views | TheChef | The usual Premier League bullshit pumped into the media to wind everyone up. Ratcliffe is just the latest soap opera baddie parachuted in for this story line. Surely everyone knows it's a circus based on Monopoly money.

Meanwhile at Man Utd on 12:53 - Feb 25 with 1115 views | slmrstid | There'll even be players in development squads at Man U with no chance of ever making the first team who'll be on anything from £250k - £500k per year and yet its the poor sods on £30k a year who get fired. Ridiculous situation but entirely their own making.

One of the biggest shames in football is teenage lads being dragged out of school, handed millions of pounds, told they're going to be the next big thing, and then more often than not dumped in their mid 20s, with no education, having been given no guidance on what to do with that money. This lad always sticks in my mind. Bang average footballer, played non league his whole life in the end, but as a junior was highly rated in the Sheff Utd academy. Killed some poor bastard on the M1 driving to his loan at Southampton in a super high power Mercedes. What is a teenager with 0 (0) appearances for Sheff Utd doing with a car like that? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Robertson I couldn't help but notice Harrison Ashby's watch in those Westfield pics last week. If you know your watches...

Same with Ray Jones. At just 18 years old and only having passed his driving test three weeks previous he should not have been allowed a Golf R32. I think Alex Ferguson had it in players contracts that whilst at the club they could not have a car more than 2.0 until a certain age (23 or 25 IIRC). [Post edited 25 Feb 17:09]

Meanwhile at Man Utd on 18:23 - Feb 25 with 681 views | numptydumpty | Why do these successful men, who have built up exceptionally successful organisations lose the plot when it comes to football clubs. So probably 1200 staff who all I am certain help keep the club running and many in hospitality and retail, where the club makes shed loads of money. Get rid of those minions , making the other minions insecure and stressed and worse at their roles due to increasing pressures. And the 30 men of who maybe 3 are value and the other 27 multi millionaires keep their money and contribute nothing. Obviously football is like no other business. So many on extreme wages in comparison to the multitudes on minimum wage or slightly above and yet the genius sacks most of the low earners in favour of the highly paid underperforming so called professional sportsman. No surprise Rashford is performing at Villa. Probably feels wanted, encouraged and given the freedom to express himself on the pitch. The shackles are off. Currently if you are bog standard premier league player, you are going to choose Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth and Forest above Man Utd. Ecclestone moaning about the free mineral water bottles in the changing rooms for the players, Briatore getting rid of any player that thought he was a n*b and expressed it, and Fernandes becoming over excited everytime we had the opportunity to sign ironically another Man Utd has-been. We have seen it ourselves, at close quarters. Hey Mr Jim, if you want to go somewhere else , say for instance somewhere near White City, please just don't. We don't want your money.... Meanwhile at Man Utd on 17:40 - Feb 24 by BrianMcCarthy | "As of 30 June 2023, Manchester United had 1,068 UK employees." 1,000! That's 1 person in every 600 from their traditional homeland in Surrey. |
They need staff to man their club shops in Guildford and Godalming and their distribution centre in West Byfleet Brian. Working from home takes on another meaning here !!!

‘Why do these successful men, who have built up exceptionally successful organisations lose the plot when it comes to football clubs’ They don’t though do they? What looks like £millions of losses to us, normal folk, is actually very calculated in a lot of cases. The Glazers dumped nearly a £billion of debt into United. This has all sort of liquidity and tax benefits which far outweigh the losses they made. The Saudis at Newcastle. State funded but providing a PR service to cover up dead journalists and influence money can’t buy. Even our own chaps only used QPR to advertise airplanes in some of the Premiership’s biggest markets in Malaysia and SE Asia.

Whatever the financial benefits to the oligarchs, it was the actual running of the football club, I was questioning their lack of sense. They want a successful football club but seem to totally lose all sense when faced with making sensible decisions. They boost their profiles - no doubt - but am dubious that they have no interest in being successful on the footballing side and it is in all reality, a dent to the ego, if they fail, in whatever sense. Football and billionaires do not mix. How about Trump propping up Rangers after he has had enough of his current employment !!!!!
