A massive part of us going forward. He grows in stature by the minute. An absolute lynchpin and first name on the team sheet. Only one of them can be right and I'm hoping he has re-signed!!
Dunne off? on 12:11 - Jan 23 with 2680 views | QPRConor2000 | This is probably not true, feels like someone leaking a story to try and hurry a deal along. I'm confident Dunne signs a new deal, he's a major part of the squad, why would he go to Sheff Utd and be a backup?
Dunne off? on 12:12 - Jan 23 with 2630 views | gazza1 | He is a Ranger - 100%., he will not leave for another Championship Team.
Dunne off? on 12:14 - Jan 23 with 2614 views | simmo | Hard to know exactly, but I think if his deal was tied up here it would be announced. Hope I'm wrong. He's in the form of his life and probably our most important player right now, you can't see him demanding unreasonable wages either. To let him go at this point would be criminal.

It just feels like one of those clickbait articles. I'm confident enough that he signs.

That's basically all FLW is - they'll publish any old nonsense about how someone's mate heard from his third cousin who's the groundsman at another club that a transfer was definitely on. You can be as critical as you like of Nourry but I'd be stunned if he dropped a clanger as massivve as this.

Never know with Nourry. Probably waiting to performatively announce it when it suits him best, maybe midway through the first half on Saturday if we go a goal down. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Its not really Nourry's fault if this happens is it? Same as with the Kolli situation, the club should have offered a fail deal, that reflects what the player is worth, what we can afford against the cost of replacing them in the current market. If Jimmy leaves its either because he won't sign the new deal, so the club has to accept any offer, or the player themselves fancies more money, or the chance to play at a higher level. It's strange how some players are given a pass by the fans when this happens. Charlie Austin vs Manning for example
Dunne off? on 13:05 - Jan 23 with 1974 views | BklynRanger | Aside from that story most likely being completely made up, I don't think he'll go. He's said before in other conversations that he loves living in West London*. He's massively connected to the club and believes things are happening here, and I know money talks but I think a deal will be arrived at. (*e.g. that one where he was chatting in his mate's parents' gazeebo somewhere near Castleblayney) [Post edited 23 Jan 13:07]

Someone voted this down but I like the sentiment of it so I'm voting you back up to zero. Dunne will already be doing alright money-wise and if I was on footballer money, there's no way I'm taking more and then having to listen to that awful Sheffield accent. No point getting another 10k a week if you've got to stab out your own ear drums after a week.

If Sheffiled red stripe offer £1 million now and he won't sign a new contract then we've got to sell him

If he's out of contract this summer, then there won't be a fee. He's free to agree a deal elsewhere and will move for free at the end of the season. Another reason it's imperative that we offer a deal - even if its' with the intention to sell. The loss on the pitch and financially is too big to let him walk.

Dunne off? on 13:44 - Jan 23 with 1532 views | aston_hoop | Was told about this a while back, it is legit interest I believe. Jimmy Dunne is not a Premier League footballer though and Sheffield Utd will be a Premier League club next season, so he should think hard about this one if he wants to play football.

If a club comes in with an offer to buy Dunne in this window and the club know that Dunne has no intention of signing for us then we have to sell him if the offer is decent

True. However, if he has indicated that he won't re-sign, then QPR can try and get something from a buying club and let him go now, as opposed to letting the contract run down. Might only be a few hundred thousand, and will depend how desperate the buying club are and us to an extent. Of course, we'll save on wages most notable in that period between the last game of the season and 30 June. However, with Jimmy, if he were to see out his contract and leave at the end of the season, I have no doubt that he'd give it 100% right to the end.
