A side without Grandad Rooney in charge.

To me this game screams banana skin, but I think we will play well and I believe with 2000 Rs in attendance could actually be a memorable performance.

A three nil win away from home.

Frey, Field and Chair on target for the rampant superhoops !!!

Walking in a "Mackie Wonderland"

a 1-0 thrashing, really should have been 3 or 4 and made a nervy last few minutes but fully deserved the win, were by far the better side

Really happy with the movement we get upfront. Kolli is really mobile and Frey moves better than I expected him to. Creates a lot of opportunities not just for them, but also for the other attacking players

Rather annoying missing so many chances to have won comfortably. Need to discover a killer instinct as we should have boosted our GD today. Spurning chances cost us a win at Watford but after creating very little in recent away games this was more like it today.

Still any win at Plymouth is to be welcomed as it has felt like the last time we won there was back in the days of the Spanish Armada.

Good performance, got the result, well done Rangers Kolli progressing very nicely.

My highlight was discovering the feeling of dread during the last 10 minutes that Plymouth were going to equalise was entirely misplaced. Thank you, QPR. That was very nice.

Just settled down with a very sweet tasting victory beer on the Cross Country train up to Hull.

Very pleased with that. Should have been 3/4-0. Missed some great chances but at least we’re creating now.

Smyth probably MOTM. Dunne and Edwards v impressive at the back.

Any idea how tall Edwards is? Seems quick enough and good on the ball. Not sure if he is that all dominating CB who will be the first to the ball and dominate in the air? Just wondering as wouldn't minds seeing him and JCS play together. With their ball playing ability would be interesting to see. Just not sure which one would be the one going in for the aerial challenge and who sweeps up

Setting the match rating expectations up right next to those beers !

Nicely done, sir - chapeau.

Sitting on the M4 now and still a lovely warm glow after that.... we really are starting to become a very decent team.

Catching up with the thread and agree with most. Plymouth were bad and the old cliche you can only beat what is put in front of you rings true...

The defence did play well, but really never tested. Edwards look assured and Dunne, well is just Dunne, standards never drop for this guy. But a big shout out for me is Fox. He marshalled everything at the back and was superb

For me as well is how vital Varane is. Allows Field and Morgan to play alot more advanced which creates so much more than we had earlier in the season.

I said at half time Smyth was our best player and I also made him MOTM today. He brings so much energy to that team.

Still a little concerned about Chair, seemed off it today, but today is notthe day for criticism

Apart from the missed chances, I thought that was just about the perfect performance from us. We never allowed Plymouth anything, and dominated the tempo of the game

Hull Tuesday, which will be a sterner test, but my word I'm getting a little tingle about this team....

Has there ever been so many Morgans on a football field? Kieran, Fox and Whittaker!

Sorry to read this. Not that this is the fault of Great Western, but I'm not used to them running on time!

Good win, one of those games where in past seasons we would've come away with nothing. Shame we didn't put away a few of those chances before HT but take the 3pts and move onto Hull. Without getting ahead of ourselves we are making a timely move similar to Forest when they went up via play offs. One thing we are doing well is not losing and coming away with crucial draws when being outplayed. Looking up not down.

I thought we played well. The formatting (shape and organisation) and application and decision making were by and large good. We dealt with their pace very well.

One or two players are not 100% on top of their game but I guess it is never possible for everyone to be at 100% for 90 minutes in a game. The usual suspects were very good - Field, Dunne, Smyth and Kolli, when he came on. No one had a shocker or let the team down.

As stated in the other message, we are progressing well. We have definitely arrested the ineffectiveness of the first third of the season.

Fox and Paal were very good as well........very good back 4 performance, strong, powerful, assured - good overall defensive performance, hence no goals conceded nor the keeper threatened. likewise a very good game by Varane as well.

We must start taking our chances though but as you say, we are creating which is progress.

On November 23rd we were bottom P15 W1 D7 L7 Pts10 GD -13

Less than 2 months later we are mid-table P27 W8 D11 L8 Pts35 GD -4

Which means our record over that 2 months is P12 W7 D4 L1 Pts25 GD +9

What a fantastic turnaround from Marti and the squad – well done.

Agreed and Varane in particular, did very well considering his early card.

I figured that he may have been hooked at half time but he clearly knew what he was doing. Remained effective but restrained himself at key moments and in his duels.

Mr Colback could learn a few things from him - and no doubt teach him some stuff that’s perhaps not in the manual.

That top six has been looking depressingly northern, somebody needs to get amongst them, be nice if it was us.

Yep Varane was better than Colback. But he should be back, and hopefully good for 90 minutes on Tuesday. Marti is doing pretty well at playing the cards that he has been dealt. He continues to pull rabbits our of hats.

I am sure Marti was not just told pre season that here are the new 10 players, sort it out and get them playing.......the players are also Marti's players as well.

As for Colback, I think he may have had a reaction to his knee injury(??) but I still think MC had time to mention him in his post match chat.

I thought there was an issue with some of these players being identified and signed by Nourry.

Chair’s having a bit of a stinker so far.

"A stinker"? Nah. An off game, but for "stinker", see Fox v Pompey, Ashby v Leicester, Celar for almost every game before Cardiff, Madsen, well every game. That was NEVER in that category.

Talk about judging Chair against a higher bar than everyone else. Tom! Madness...

Yes, he wasn't great, but no-one was in that first half - everyone else was giving the ball away for fun; it was very low quality at times from both teams.

Can we go out yet?
