I have supported the club for just under 20 years now and for the first time in my memory, I reluctantly admit to losing interest. There are fortunately or unfortunately things I would rather be doing to enjoy my weekends that cost a lot less money and stress  .
Even through the prem years and Ainsworth football (the worst ive seen), I still had the drive to be frustrated with the team and had optimism that it would be better soon. Cold Tuesday nights at the Loft or long away days weren't a hindrance, it was all part of supporting QPR.
However, it just seems like failure after failure after failure and we never seem to learn. Andy Belk's continued employment despite seemingly not being very good is evidence of this alone.
I dont know what the answer is, it feels like we have gone down every route possible. But we just want a bit of Warnock and Adel to cheer us all up haha. Hats off to those who have done it for 40+ years, its truly admirable. |  |

QPR is in the blood. I was brought up in Shep bush and remember as a kid seeing the lights from a flat in Benbow rd and wanting to be there. First game in the late 70"s as an eight year old. Exhilarating as a kid heading to the game. The grown ups, the noise, the passion. No feeling like a goal celebrated with believers like yourself. It is in the blood. I actually find myself more drawn to the club when it is struggling. Have attended many, many games but only had a season ticket when we were in league 1. In the last few years I have watched hmy local non league club (Hampton and Richmond) and tried to convince myself that they were my team. No chance. It is in the blood. My son, who is sixteen and sat on his grandfather's shoulders during the play off final is also infected. His choice was to go to Leeds away for his 16th birthday. He knows we are currently shit and does not care. It is in the blood. I would not criticise anybody who has had enough but I would say you ain't going anywhere. It is in the blood. |

Starting taking my son after Covid. He is now an Arsenal fan and to be honest I don't blame him. He has started supporting QPR over the worst 4 year period in my nearly 40 years supporting them. It's utterly joyless going to QPR at the moment and has been for 3 years straight. My other son comes with me to games but also tells his mates he is an Arsenal fan.
A completely stagnant club under awful ownership. Our time will came again, but not whilst this lot own the club. They have no idea what they are doing or how to run a club. They've been there nearly 15 years as well |
We have become a club that others do look down at and its because it's been run appallingly for way too long.
Lessons never seem to be learned
I have attended most seasons since 1980 and last six or seven years having a season ticket but am slowly being drowned in doom.
I actually never ever expect us to win at home and in last few years, we very rarely do.
The fact that some Saturday games get a full house and the majority of home fans show no real dissent towards the management and the players is quite unreal.
Yes many of us will moan on here but the home support and all the away games I go to, I have been so impressed with how our fans have not publicly turned on players and management. It's fantastic.
We will always have struggles more often than not and you will experience the gallows humour etc but we are all also gluttons for punishment.
I am thinking if we drop to league one, I will attend but think the season ticket will not be happening for me.
Three wins out of nowhere and the mood of the crowd and this forum changes dramatically.
I am another one that this time cannot see how we can escape our fate this season. Mainly because our saviour from.last season is not able to achieve results to with the squad this year and the green shoots are totally invisible.
I hate this club as much as I love it and therein lies the problem.
I think a club like ours attracts a certain type of person anyhow.
At least we will never be saddled with the term "glory supporters"
We support Rangers through thin and thin. We question our sanity but never enough to make a clean break...
Almost like the old phrase that used to be said about relationships with women, when it's said "you can't live with them and you can't live without them". That particular saying could well be adapted to the fate of being a supporter of the not so supa hoops !!!

I have to say I'm very very very QPR'd at the moment. This is worse than last year in my book for the sheer fact I took my very heavy pessimistic hat off and allowed a faint glimmer of hope for mediocre mid table goodness with Marti at the helm.
How the fu&k does this club keep pressing the self destruct button and taping back together the mess afterwards and pressing it again is beyond me.
A total embarrassment from the top down!

I watched us replace Alan McDonald with Steve Morrow and go from finishing 5th in the top division to losing at Grimsby and Stockport. I don't like the club much currently, but you never stop loving it and supporting it. |  | | |

I'm not done, but if I can't make a game now, I don't tend to miss it. Maybe it's an age thing (53 now) but it wasn't that long ago I planned my days around QPR.
It's actually quite sad, because back in 81 when I first stepped foot into loftus road, it was the first place I genuinely felt I fitted in.
I've made friends for life due to QPR, and even met the missus through our love of this mad club.
Christ, when we moved out of London and bought our place on the sussex coast a couple of years ago, I made sure the journey back to Shepherd's Bush was easily doable.
I think it's safe to say QPR has consumed my life since the age of 10, but I just don't get as peed off as I used to when we lose. Just as well, or I'd be on the happy pills by now |  |
