Can only be good news, I'm expecting him to be hitting the back of the net on a regular basis. No doubt there will be a release clause in his contract. Happy with this.

Honestly thought he'd be a gonner which would have meant an awful hard job of replacing him, so as far as I can tell thats one position (a key position at that) now filled. Good work by the club well done.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

“The fact he was digging his heels in makes me question wether he is 100 % commited to the cause“
It’s called negotiation good luck to him we would all do it.

If GA likes to get balls in the box early from out wide, I think that will play to LD’s strengths, more so than total football, particularly if those balls find his head. Wouldn’t be surprised if he has a good season.
Also, can’t question the character of someone who played leading up to a collapsed lung and then came back and put more effort in than most of his teammates.
Three years gives us some breathing space to sell as well.
Remind me how we are supposed to react when something positive happens, I can't remember any more
Woo hoo, this is great stuff, he may not be the most prolific of strikers but: - He has shown loyalty - He is a trier and puts in a shift (not a given with players these days) - He does nab a few goals - He helps out defensively - There is no way we could have replaced him with better or equivalent quality if he had left.
I'm in. Well done Rangers!
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
I'm chuffed with this. I know he has his knockers, but I'm not one of them. He may not score enough goals, but, imo, we've consistently been a better side with him in it than without him.

I see it as great news. Great news either by Lyndon staying with us for next season at least and hopefully making at least as strong a contribution he has done the last 3 seasons, or if he is still sold by enabling us to get a larger fee than we would have done with just the year left.

Personally, I think this is the good "Eze-style" business we should be doing with various players. That is, sign them for a few seasons onwards knowing all too well that we expect them gone by the end of next season or even January, but for a good lot more than what we would get for him now. That is, if Dykes continues his performances at national level and starts to put a few in for us, it would be more and more likely that seven figures would not be out of the question for him next year. Some may say I am dreaming, but the scenario is certainly there.
Based on that, it would further be quite likely that a young lower-league prospect will be brought in in a similar style as LD to help with the future. If we retain Martin and Armstrong then we also require a LD-type of player, something neither of the other two are.

Wow thought most of this forum had it in for Lyndon
I personally have always been one of his supporters on here and glad to see he has several others here also.
Actually great to see many forum members not doing, what half this forum does, which is being 100 per cent negative !!!
Think this is excellent news.
Yes he does always put a shift in - undoubtedly he needs to sharpen up on his finishing skills but he has all round skills - excellent help at defending set pieces - flick ons and holding up balls - brining others into the game and being a presence also.
There are many other attributes other than goalscoring as a number nine required, ie lot of teams the goals are as much with the wide players and from attacking midfield also as with the centre forward - probably showed up more as no other massive contributors in the goals scored bracket sadly last season.
But this is excellent news. I thought he would be off elsewhere and feared BealeBall was after him..
And as others have said if he went, almost certain the replacement would not be at the level of Lyndon.
Definitely also with the right set up, can see Dykes being a strong player at this level.

So's the fact you've actually said something positive ..
I was waiting for your comment so no surprise there then, you seem to have a problem? Oh on your other comment I didn’t abuse anyone on here & wouldn’t

More box ticking. Getting rid of a Dickie but keeping Dykes.
I take it you did'nt watch us much 2nd half of the season.
If we can get our 2 or 3 of our no 10's around Dykes the way the likes of McGinn, McTominay, McGregor play-off him, hopefully we have a Championship level attack at least sorted for next season. Just a Full-back, Centre-half and complete Midfield to sort now.
In his last two games for Scotland he's shown facets to his game which his detractors at ours regularly argue he does'nt have, including;
1) Superb control + lay-off on weaker left foot plus great awareness to tee-up McLean for 2nd goal v Norway 2) A poachers instinct + no lack of pace to score the 1st goal v Norway 3) Attacking near post + causing chaos + a weak clearance for McGregors goal v Georgia
Lets see if he can do this more often for us with hopefully quicker ball into the box and our other attacking players getting closer to him.

Really not sure about this . Full of respect for him and the effort he puts in especially after being so unwell , but he has long dry spells in front of goal , ok if other players are weighing in but they were not last year and we could yet lose them this summer . Personally I am feeling good about this season , but to go in with Dykes , Kelman , Armstrong and possibly Martin just doesnt cut it IMO

I can't help wonder if Ains and Dobson will have analysed how Steve Clarke has got the best out of Dykes and thought, "Yep we can do that. Let's pull out the stops to keep him and play like Scotland."

A nice afternoon surprise for me !
When I was working as a Saturday boy in a Clapham Junction shoe shop in the late 1970s, this tune, accompanied by a whistle, was always used when a goal was scored on Capital Radio and I had to block out all the extraneous noise to listen in case it was the Rs! Good memories.

Great news. I really thought he was a gonner. The other side of me worries that the reason he’s signed now is that there’s a release clause in his new contract.
