This was a match of Ifs.
If Dickie hadn't made that mistake.
If Bournemouth hadn't hit the post to make it 3-0.
If their goalkeeper hadn't made several impressive saves.
And then the why.
Why are we always so good in the last 15-20 minutes?
Why can't we start matches the way we finish matches?
We are a very good footballing side.
We just lack that ruthless streak and perhaps pace up front.
But we are improving rapidly.
We are fantastic to watch.
As games go by we get better and better as the youngsters learn the art of winning.
Last December we were heading down to Division 1.
Nine months later we're challenging the very best.
If Bournemouth are one of the top sides in this Championship then QPR are definitely top six.
And that's remarkable considering our budget.
Ok we lost although we deserved a draw especially with our brilliant last 10 minutes of play.
Let's not be too down.
Defeat isn't very pleasant.
But we do have a side that is very capable of making the play-offs. |

Typical Stroud performance, Willock could have gone, let them take it in turns to foul, already booked Bournemouth bloke picks ball up and throws it into the crowd right in front of him and ignores it. Loses control completely last 15.
Usual gutless performance we all expect from him.

I watched this on Sky, which I don't normally approve of, but hey - the half-time analysis cleverly showed the Bournemouth press from midfield on our other defenders shutting down Dickie's passing options, which made him hesitate, and . . . [Post edited 14 Sep 2021 21:55]

Good effort 2nd half but the first half was too woeful to recover from.
Dickie and Kakay very poor but thought De Wijs played well.
Wish Warbs had been braver and kept Dykes on: Bournemouth were struggling when we put lots of crosses in.

We more than held our own against a side that’s going to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. We’re not perfect by a long shot, but what is so noticeable with this squad is the fighting spirit. If we keep this up and cut down the mistakes, we will be in the mix at the end of the season. With Field, Amos and Wallace to come back, we have the players to compete. Frustrated at not getting a point, but by no means is it doom and gloom. Love this team. It feels Rs. |  | | |

Agreed but that comes from the manager. Bournemouth are actually a young team but Parker has clearly instilled a nasty side in his players. All about gauging the ref early doors. If he comes down hard early then tone it down. If he let's things go, ramp it up. I know some fans don't like it but street smarts is a vital ingredient to success. |  | | |

Antti - the difference was we tore them to shreds in the last 10-15 minutes.

Bit harsh to say it was woeful. Very good until the goal, then we were under the cosh, but I didn't think we were playing particularly badly. We're away against a side that will finish top 4 - you're going to be up against it for periods at least.
Dykes probably off for medical reasons tbf.

To be fair most of our results have been ground out this season. We almost got something out of this too. Bodes well. I think their crowd reaction at the end summed it up. We will play a lot worse than tonight and win this season.
I think our players learned a lot from todays match. I'm almost glad we lost. We are a serious contender at this early stage. | |

The Warnock team that won the championship in 2010/11 was brimming with street smarts. We often forget this when reminiscing about Taarabt, Faurlin and Routledge but success would not have been achieved without the cunning of Kenny, Orr, Hill, Derry, Mackie and Helguson. My point was Lee Hendrie on the commentry team calling for a red card was wrong. He was doing it all match against us. Why is any QPR fan sticking up for him?
Commentators shouldn't be calling for red cards in that sort of situation. Fair enough if Willock had been violent.
It was far from violent. It was a bit of a reaction. If the referee decides it's a red fair enough.
