Down vote this as much as you like but.. on 18:37 - Nov 23 by icecoldjack | He would like Brendan Rodgers, what we would get though is the cheapest poorest imitation so it's an irrelevant question really. I'm not for cooper out myself, but by fook does he need to start making that team play football ! Potter managed to do it and coopers remit was to develop our style of play, unless if course he was just bill scrapping in his presser when joining us. Like I said before, it's not cooper out, its cooper sort it the fook out ! Fans were not happy today and rightly so, Grimes is losing his bottle and is too afraid to play.at.home, its criminal he was made.captain after just 1 good season playing mostly alongside a beast like Leroy Fer . We are moving yet again away from good footballing principles, when we do that we start to negate the use of players like Routs,Dyer,Celina etc and we become o e dimensional, and that's exactly what's been happening at home for basically months now, one dimensional slow passing rubbish football. |
Seriously, anyone who knows their footy can see that Grimes is no Capitano. The captaincy in my opinion is too heavy for him and if i were Cooper i would take the Burden off him sharpish and give it Back to VDH BECAUSE HE HAS LOOKED SHITE SINCE THEY TOOK IF OFF HIM. Grimes was fantastic last season but being captain is too much for him. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Start of the season Cooper was the Welsh Pep, about a month later he was sh!t and needed to be sacked, a few weeks ago he was seen to be improving and would be leaving us for a PL team in the offseason, and now people want him sacked again! Ffs. I said this before the Cardiff game, and I'll say again. The general consensus before the season started was that we would finish somewhere around 10th. Until we drop below that position, there should be ZERO talk of Cooper getting sacked. Based on the majority of our home games, it seems Cooper was overachieving with an average squad early in the season. After the Leeds game we started getting the results you'd expect a mid-table team to get. To me it's the squad's ability that is the problem, not Cooper. | ![](/images/avatars/26211.gif) |

They had no dea where each other were and took 4 touches before rolling it sideways. They do not play what’s in front of them and decent players looked positively indecent. All of that is coaching, He needs to up his game. Absolutely nothing to do with league position. We have better players than Millwall. On yesterday’s showing you’d never believe it. It's his team selection that's doing my head in and then his subs. Byers should be with the U23's , his continual selection is turning me from bemusemunt and bafflement to plain angry now. He contributes nothing and has been stealing a living for months . Quite how Barrie Mackay gets all the sh*t and him none is another mystery to me. We were effectively playing 2 men down in our MF yesterday, no wonder we lost. Grimes is not captain material either, . Give that to Ayew and let Grimes concentrate on his own game. | ![](/images/avatars/8686.gif) |

Coaching ?? What does he coach them to be gutless, be too afraid to shoot, pass sideways and back when on the edge of the opposition box ? Have these players just joined from non-league football ? No, no and no !! The players turned in an awful performance yesterday and were poor all by themselves. The best manager it Britain can do little if players play collectivelly as if they have never met and can't or won't go for goal. We had three strikers yet couldn't have scored if we had played until midnight. All Cooper's fault - not IMHO sorry | ![](/images/avatars/21549.gif) |

I get what your saying but Swansea League players don't need motivating to play. These guys are getting paid good money to do a job we would love and yet the general concensus is that (with all modern players) they need to be cajoled and have their egos rubbed just to go out and do what should come naturally to them ? Sorry I don't buy it. [Post edited 24 Nov 2019 23:44]

Players do need motivation and it is the managers job to do that. At the start of the season we were walking all over teams for at least a half, neutral for 20 minutes and struggling for 25. Players were moving the ball accurately and swiftly (often seeing patterns of one touch passing that opposition couldn't live with), wingers were providing CF with chances. Cardiff apart - since the end of August we keep seeing players taking 4 or 5 touches before laying off a pass that was there from the time hey received the ball, players not knowing where to pass, players doubling back when passing options are available, players forming straight lines across the pitch. AND what makes us laugh is predicting the pass. Keeper to Hoorn to Grimes to Wilmot to Hoorn to Seagull to Wilmot to keeper or, keeper to Horn looks for a pass - midfield joined attack so no option but to go sideways fullbacks take the ball a little forward before coming inside and back. | ![](/images/avatars/23858.gif) |

But absolutely fine last season as the Captain. We're seeing this with a few players now; those who were pretty good on an individual level last year, have been consistently poor this - VdH, Grimes, Celina. Cooper - “Since the first week of pre-season, he has installed a winning mentality in the group. Maybe we didn’t have that so much last year.' Grimes Potter - 'But fear can eat you up and it stops you being yourself on the pitch and that's no good.' Depending on the attitude of the coach in training players can quickly become afraid to make mistakes. | ![](/images/avatars/23858.gif) |

This, everybody should know by now that we are abysmal after every International break. So why haven't management "managed" to sort it out? Is it training, picking the wrong players, ie those who played in the internationals? | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

I wish it had actually been that good, it was much more like Keeper to Hoorn to Grimes to Wilmot to Hoorn to Seagull to Wilmot to keeper or directly to an opposition player. I can honestly say I have never seen so many accurate passes, both short & long which went exactly to on opposing player. They were gifted the ball time after time in the first half, I suggested on the match forum that our players were confused that some of our players were playing in the new away colours and not in white it was so bad. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
