Looking back we had some fabulous players at the time, which M L would of been totally aware of before becoming the Swans manager.
Unless Huddersfield gave him some massive incentive why would he contemplate taking that job.

I wanted Laudrup back this summer and weren't the board also considering it? But he publicly said he wanted to take a break from coaching to do other things.

I'd wish him well whatever he does. Played some fantastic football under him.

I’d be amazed if he’s got the bollox to go to a club three games adrift with sixteen to play.

Wonderful times. Valencia amazing. I actually drove to St Gallen. Then there was Napoli.
Thanks for the journey Mikey.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Think you'll find Monk was in charge against Napoli.

As a Premier League Swans manager, in my own opinion:

(1) Rodgers
(2) Martinez*
(3) Laudrup
(4) Guidolin (extremely underrated)
(5) Clement
(6) Monk
(7) Carvallho

Geographically, Hull makes a lot of sense for Laudrup. With a private jet he could commute home to Denmark every day. Still don't think that he'd take it.

When you look at that list - and whichever order you put them in - we've had some very competent managers.

CORRECTION: My mistake. Of course Martinez was never our manager in the Premier League.

I remember the day he signed - I was working in the North East for a few days and had colleagues patting me on the back as if I’d saved their job. Back then we were everyone’s second favourite team and there were quite a few Mackem and Geordie folk who started following our results more closely.

I think you'll find the reason we were there in the first place was because of Laudrup, nothing whatsoever to do with Monk.

Apologies for the sharpness of reply then, despite Laudrup's grizzly end here, the Uefa cup or Europa league, whatever it was called was on ML, I couldn't bare the thought of Monk taking credit.

You know, I remember Laudrup saying not long before he was sacked that the squad needed investment if we were to progress in the Premier League, and that it was a risk to stand still because others were always improving. How right he was then. I reckon he could be a good director of football one day.

Also reminds me of the reasons Jenkins apparently turned down Bielsa.

Bielsa and managers like him with opinions, like Laudrup frighten Huw to death which is the reason why he appoints the type of nodding dog managers he does.

Although GP I think will surprise him.

I don’t. Apart from being ‘ill’ on deadline day, he’s towed the party line every chance he’s got. Even to the point of contradicting himself about January funds recently.

Huw thought he was appointing a nodding dog in Monk. Instead he got bitten by a chihuahua who thought he was a wolf.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
