Trust in Sir Huw 07:39 - Nov 9 with 5074 viewsmarchamjack

Whether he backs Garry or sacks him and gets someone else in (who none of us on here or in the press will correctly predict no doubt) then we all need to relax as Sir Hubert will get it right and we'll stay up.

Anyone really disagree with this when you properly think about it?

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Its also not a case of one single player becoming a minge

Hitherto good players are now shot to pieces and there has to be a reason and words alone are not enough.

I would have loved Monk to stay for years and grow and us with him but football is fickle and moves fast and it really is club first every time..

Cork used to be terrific for example, now he s behind Leon whom he was replacing apparently.
Tabanou also seems persona non grata with no explanation

Ayew was a rave for the first few games and has caught the malaise.

Even FAB is nowhere near his standard

You've spent quite a bit of time lately shooting players to pieces. Why the change of tune?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

That's a spot on post, my main worry is the body language of the players and the pedestrian way we are playing, something is wrong when a squad of this quality is performing the way it is

Yes it's this for me too. Hence the condition in my post and other posts. He can only be given more time if the core of the club including influential players are still bought in to his strategies. It's easy to all be smiley when winning, and I would hope that there's some discontent when not winning, but the arm gesturing and shouting on my pc screen on Saturday didn't look pretty. Neither did GM's body language in his interview. When things are working out it's easy to dismiss any discontent...when they aren't, I'm sure football backbiting from spoilt ego driven millionaires that know they are largely bulletproof can be quite a trial. Especially if an 'I'm the gaffer' approach is adopted.

It all seems to have got very intense. It's a shame it all has to be played out in a public glare. that's enough to stress anyone. thank God, for his own sake, he hasn't got to do a presser on Thursday.

I lost all trust in 'Sir Huw' when he and other members of the board made it clear they are seeking to sell up and used the clubs money to make that atrocious film in order to try and kick-start any takeover/investment business.

However, I do trust that he and every other person involved at board room level who own lots of shares will not want their current tens of millions to turn into hundreds of thousands in the Championship, so he will do whatever he thinks is nescersary to keep us in this division.

Laudrup was apparently sacked for behind the scenes issues. The attitude the players had towards each other on Saturday was shocking and even the commentators on my stream noticed how no one seemed to be getting along.

I think it is still a few games early to be sacking Garry, however he is on the ropes and I don't think he could complain if he was relieved of his duties today. Managers in this division are sacked in our current predicament very often.

We have nigh on 2 players for every position. We can make as many changes as we want.

Personally, I'd bring in Leon to speed up the play, move Shelvey into the #10 position, start Routledge and bring Jeff off the bench, try Tabanou at LB (oh for someone on the left who can cross the ball), oh and tell Ayew to play on the wing and give his RB some protection. Maybe bring Eder in for Gomis, but I'm far from convinced the much maligned striker has been given any support from the rest of the team.

Normally I avoid posts along the lines of Uxbridge's above, but I make a first exception on this one. Most of what he wrote makes good sense. [See my next post, too.]

A holding midfield player should feature in every single game, I don't mind whether that's Cork or Leon. Ayew should be told to keep positional discipline and stop exposing our right back all the time or Routledge should play right midfield. Perm two of Ki, JJS and Gylfi,

If we are going to change the manager it should be done by mid December at the latest so that the new man has time to look at the squad and plan for the January window. Having said that this squad of players is more than capable of a mid table finish if managed well. There is no way that our current squad should be fighting relegation. Which brings us back to Garry Monk....

And I agree with the first paragraph of this post, too [but avoiding the second paragraph].

For me, the second paragraph is absolutely spot-on. As I posted on another thread, I feel we are at the same stage as under Jackett - we have the players but not the right coaching. At that time Roberto took over and had an instantly positive effect.

I think the deafening silence from Sir Huw and the board tells us a lot. Surely he'd come out and back his man at this time, if they were backing him?

As others have said, the board have got millions riding on us staying the PL, they can't be doing nothing at this point to protect their investment can they? Sir Huw will be casting the net as we speak you'd think.

Gets to Xmas and we still haven't got even 20 points, which could happen way things are going, they can't wait that long to act, they just can't. I think they'll act sooner rather than later.

let's just leave it to those who know better than any of us is it

not saying for a moment this has been a golden period in the running of the club, far from it from outside view, but some people on here really need to get some perspective on things when the fact is they know bggr all in reality about what is going on behind the scenes

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?
