Have to admit the old eyes moistened up a tad watching this.

Bit gutted to see Gary Lineker did not appear. He may well be a bit of a prat on MOTD but his goals for England were crucial.
THAT goal by Platt .Do you remember where you were?
I'd forgotten how much the Press had targeted Bobby Robson before Italia 90.
Our own Paul Parker is one of the reminiscing players.
I missed this programme first time round being over here. Glad I found it..
Great time to be 25 years old..

A magical summer that Pom
An England team you could like, a hot summer, great England kit & world in motion
As soon as I hear Nessun Dorma I get a little tear, I think most men who are over the age of 35 & follow football do
In that World Cup we were a team who dug out results without really playing that well
Apart from the Holland & semi where we played some really good stuff
Oh and it was never Parkers fault it was that minge Shilton who got lobbed on his line & who got no where near any of the penalties

Also Pom check out Kevin allens ( brother of Keith ) video diary of the World Cup , it's from a fans perspective, excellent viewing

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Totally agree. Vision, skill, dribbling, desire. Born in 1971 he is my all time favourite player. Non QPR of course. That would be Gallen.

Great player, wish he had gone to Man U instead of Spurs and the London hype, we would have won either a euro or World Cup with that guy properly harnessed!

Italia 90 and euro 96 are my favourite England years. I was 14 in 1990 and cried my eyes out when we got knocked out.
How good was Beardsley for Lineker.
Gazza was the business.

Occasional providers of half decent House music.

Thanks for that, great to watch and great memories.
Players who were not motivated by money and had pride in the shirt.

Makes you wonder if they showed that as a motivational video how the modern day international footballer would react and whether they would appreciate the impact their effort/performance has on the nation at home.

Bet most would lose interest and be on Twitter within 10min.

The old joke goes "has Waddles pen landed yet?"

I wonder if Shilton has started moving for that last pen yet?
Great keeper- not good with penalties

Shilton's record with penalties in his England career (excluding shoot outs) was absolute pony.

15 penalties against, 13 conceded, 1 missed, 1 saved.

Ironically the one penalty he saved was against......Andreas Brehme.
