Hasenhuttl Confident Of Adding To The Squad Before The Transfer Window Shuts Friday, 25th Sep 2020 09:06 Ralph Hasenhuttl knows he has problems, but he is confident of solving them in the transfer window, will he be able to do so though ?
Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl feels that as we head into the last week of the transfer window we will be able to bring in up to 3 new faces before the October deadline. The transfer window for overseas transfers closes at 11pm on October 5, with the time allowed for domestic deals extending through to October 16.
Now is the time that deals will start to get done and Hasenhuttl intends to be busy.
Asked if he would be happy to go into the rest of the season with the squad he currently has available, Hasenhuttl said: "No, I wouldn’t. But I know that we will get players in.
"Now comes the moment where I think some good opportunities are coming up, also maybe for us.
"I think the players who were our number one choice, it was not so easy for us to get them.
"But I think there are some other alternatives where we are still keen when they are coming to us, be it on loan or permanent.
"Either way I think we know we need a few, one or two players minimum we must get, maybe three."
That is good to hear, hopefully one will be an experienced central defender

With the squad we have got now the more the merrier. Some of the players we are now being linked with look good. Players like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Olivier Ntcham, Hamza Choudhury & Tom Davies.

THE big question is...is Ralph issuing an ultimatum to the board or is this a true statement? Which ever it is, we have dropped 6 points from two games already....games we could and should have got something from. If we don't get something at Burnley...we'll be playing catch up already.

Well Luis has just signed on for a 1 yr loan at Monaco so we can scratch him off the list however unlikely it was. I am surprised we haven't offered a swap deal for Olivier Ntcham with Mohamed Elyounoussi given how well he's doing for them and how much the Celtic fans love him. Seems a no brainer, Elyounoussi is not part of Ralphs plans and we need a Midfielder like Ntcham. Loftus- Cheek would be a great loan signing if we could get him but I can't help but feel this will pass us by with him instead choosing a rival team (bottom half opposition). So I think that Choudhury and Davies are likely to be the ones we'll sign up - Not overly inspiring but I'll support anyone who puts the colours on and gives 100%. Defence is again looking shaky with JS and JB going through the usual 'peaks and troughs' performances but don't see us adding to them now we've got Salisu. I've heard rumours we are now in advanced initial talks prior to a fit and proper test with the Yank regarding a takeover - This would explain the lack of investment currently as the current owner wouldn't want to add to the clubs 70m debt - we'll have to wait and see i guess

We’ve been top of the Premiership “who has spent the least table†in every recent transfer window that I can remember. Why on earth does anybody seriously think that the current window will reverse the situation? That’s why we appear to have offered Jack Stephens a four year contract extension. Put simply he may not be the real deal but we can’t afford anybody else who is.

We all know it's going to be that Last second Kevin Danso type signing. You sell PEH just to replace him with Tom Davis? For the first time in my life am thinking this club is a joke. Really...

I'm uncomfortable with the way RH is talking, blaming the players for that awfully high defensive line, suggesting we can now look at the "next best" in the transfer market as we've missed our first picks and adding that we can't hope to get the best youngsters as they've all gone to bigger and better clubs. What is his game - pressure on the board when they appear to be in negotiations to sell the club or diverting attention from his recent failings in the hope of keeping his job. I can't see any significant signings coming this way - not soon, anyway.

It’s pretty simple, we need 3 players! The most needed position is a central midfielder, then a centre back then a wide player! If we get those three positions AT MINIMUM! I’ll be happy, if not well...

I hope the optimists are right. We need new players. It is not totally inconceivable that the current defensive resources could take us down.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process.
