Boruc Fit And Could Be Back Against The Baggie's
Thursday, 9th Jan 2014 16:37

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Artur Boruc is back to fitness and training with the squad, however at Thursday afternoon's press conference he would not be drawn as to whether the Polish Keeper would return.

At last the news Saints fans want to hear, that Artur Boruc is fit again and in contention for a first team place, however Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino would not confirm or deny that the Pole will be back in the starting line up to face West Brom.

The Argentinian has a dilemma, does he throw Boruc into the fray and hope that his hand is up to it or does he give him another week to recuperate to ensure that the hand is strong enough, the downside of doing this is that Boruc will have to go straight in to a tough game at Sunderland without match practice.

So my guess is that Boruc will face the Baggies, its a game we really need to win to stop ourselves being dragged down the table in the next few weeks and the wisdom of Boruc going in now will be firstly that he can get match practice in a game when hopefully there wont be as much action as the following week and secondly it will be a big boost for a defence that has let in three goals in three of the last four league games at St Mary's.

So good news from the Press conference, perhaps our luck and form is about to change.

All hail the holy goalie. (Surely that should be part of a Saints Artur Boruc chant?)

It will be good to see him between the sticks again.

Let us pray that he will play.

Why do you think he will have less to deal with against West Brom than Sunderland ? If Lovren and Fonte start supported by Shaw and Clyne neither may get a look in.

Possibly because Sunderland scored 2 against Utd.
