Just saw the name of Kurt Bakholt on another thread. I saw his one and only cameo for the R's. What other players have made just one first team appearance? |

OK so we all know it was 217 when we last won four consecutive home games. When did we last win five? (maybe even six). |

Chelsea away Sean Wright Philip's goal, such joy (though not from him the little...) Chelsea home, 1-0 the John Terry racist night, greatest ever performance by us, the crowd. Never known an atmosphere as intense or hostile anywhere. More joy. |

Wettest was Swindon away on the open terrace during a torrential downpour for ninety minutes. Can't remember the year or the result or the competition, just the squelching slog back to the station. |

Its a game of opinions, but yours is ridiculous. We are who we are, just got a point and a couple of minutes away from three, away from home, injury ravaged, played pretty well for two thirds of that. I want us to be where we were in 1976 but we're not, we're a less than average second division team with a good young manager and a couple of decent players. Plus great fans. Either enjoy that and hope we progress or else glaze over and take no notice. |

Eight men out is probably the greatest sporting film, baseball makes great movies. Fire in Babylon is a brilliant doc about West Indies cricket. Both Rocky and Raging Bull are brilliant. |
| Forum Reply | Smyth,s Goal? at 18:38 14 Dec 2024
I loved the goal, I like the man, but all this love for Smyth is more than a little fickle. He is the most frustrating player in the club, of course he is fast and big hearted and he drives me regularly mad, just learn to cross for God's sake. Well done today lad, but let's not kid ourselves. |

Varane was immense today. I have no problem with an away performance like that, Bristol fans were certainly wound up at the end and we could have nicked it at the death. Good from Alfie too. I'll take that and have a beer. |

Add Paul Parker and Clive Wilson to that little list please. |

We have more points than we did that time last year, and this is a worse league than last year, so less points will be needed to stay up. We have loads of players to come back and we are getting better. Stop being so pessimistic. |

Which three teams will end up below us?. I'll go Plymouth, Portsmouth and Cardiff, but would love Luton. |

Understandably feeling better today than have for a long time, which may well colour what I am about to write. But were the summer signings really as bad as we've all been saying? Nardi is definitely an upgrade on last season. Saito is a lovely little player full of effort and guile Varane has started to come into his own as a commanding midfielder Morrison looks like a very decent centre half to me. Dembele, injured hard to tell Santos. Not very good. Madsen - Mixed bag obvious talent but not great application Celar is of course the tough one to call. Before last night useless, now??? Four or five positives out of that lot is not a bad total. Maybe our league position isn't just down to bad signings, maybe it does take time to gel. [Post edited 28 Nov 2024 9:59]

My response to all these very understandable contributions is: we go again and again and again. It's in our blood, for many of us in our family story and you can't just shrug off your family. I will be there if we are playing on Paddington Rec, still shredding my nerves and just occasionally making my heart soar. I don't enjoy losing, but I would hate not being part of this club. My dad told me when he first took me 60 years ago that this was a life sentence. You can't leave jail just because you're not enjoying it. |
