For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 18:46 - Dec 11 by Al_Bundy | The five arrivals from Zurich to Heathrow up to 11pm tonight have been cancelled so there will be no planes. However the 6am to Zurich is scheduled tomorrow to fly but it won't. So anybody banking that may be unfortunate. |
how do you know it won't?

For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 18:28 - Dec 11 by JackFish | We were on the 1:45 which was cancelled, then got moved onto the 8pm flight which has now also been cancelled, along with all Swissair flights from Heathrow today and several tomorrow. Finally got through to their ticket line after nearly an hour and the only thing they could find was BA from Heathrow tomorrow at 5pm which is obviously no good. Also looked at Stansted, Gatwick and Bristol but nothing from there either :( |
Gutted for you mate, I really am. Seriously now, why don't you get a car full together and just driving it? I got to Austria from Swansea in I think 16 hours. According to RAC, Heathrow to St Gallen is 'only' 11 hours.... Could be a good adventure

Route seems pretty straightforward too should be no probs with sat nav. Only thing is the toll roads but should not be a problem. Weather ok too [Post edited 11 Dec 2013 18:57]

If you can just jump on a ferry or the tunnel, with no prior booking, I'd certainly do that

Think there are issues with the ferries because of fog. According to web can just turn up and drive on chunnel - may want to double check

I could be wrong here Lis but I'd imagine the last planes in tonight will be the first ones out tomorrow morning. If they don't come in they won't be there to go out. Check it out good luck.

For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 19:03 - Dec 11 with 2168 views | Al_Bundy | The weather won't be the issue. There are no incoming flights from Zurich and it will be chaos trying to get on another flight your not booked on as the contracted passengers take priority and will fit people on from today's flights where they can. All Ryanairs flights are due to land at Standsted tonight so the location of the plane won't be the problem but there is fog forecasted although taking off isn't the problem its actually landing so may be lucky.

I learned of the last minute Austrian pre-season tour at 2pm in work. I was home by 5pm and on the M4 heading for Dover by 7.30. It really is simple - you just need to book your car on the ferry online and sort out European breakdown cover if you don't already have it.... You can pick up headlight deflectors and those little 'GB' stickers for your car whilst on the ferry. The drive is great too, their motorway networks are so much better than ours [Post edited 11 Dec 2013 19:06]

For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 19:42 - Dec 11 with 2012 views | FearOfAJackPlanet | Going back to the original post, was there an indication that the club were looking to do something about this, or did they just want to know for the sake of it? Probably bugger all they can do at this stage?

For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 18:40 - Dec 11 by matt_the_jack | I'm on the 6am Swiss Air from Heathrow tomorrow, not optimistic. Another Sheffield Utd on the cards I think |
Depending where you are now and if they will transfer your ticket there's a Swissair flight from Birmingham to Zurich at 8.40 tomorrow morning. Maybe seats available?

For anyone stranded at Heathrow today on 20:07 - Dec 11 with 1853 views | marchamjack | Just been reading the St Gallen forum (via google translate which makes for interesting reading) and seems that their fans think that they'll play a weakened team as they have a big last game before the winter break on the weekend against Young Boys Berne and are going for the Swiss title, 4th v 5th, 3 points off top. Hope that turns out to be correct
| Oh,..Dave, what's occuring? |
