No and No

I'm sorry but I don't give a monkey"s if we are playing Valencia or Nuneaton, basic passing and movement and dealing with the ball (which we know we are capable of) and no ambition to press or make space is the expected standard irrespective of the opponent.

So is hard work and passion when trying to win the ball.

They were decent enough on the ball but they wanted to win the game more than we did I'm afraid and that's more concerning as tonight's game is probably up there with one of the best/important games many of our players would have been involved in FFS, if you can't get up for Valencia at home what do you get up for?

Same attitude transmitted to the crowd.

Expecting 'too much' doesn't come into it I'm afraid.

Precisely.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Pozuelo was the standout weak link for me.

When he's on his game he's a joy to watch, when he's not he's a liability. Quite a few people got a bit irate around me when Dyer got hooked for Hernandez instead of him.

Lamah kept trying to play the fancy pass instead of the simple one.

Those two did give up possession quite a lot, then again the ref took it off dyer twice lol

Completely cheesed off with that performance, no urgency on or off the ball they were popping it around us for fun while we stood off. They pressed hard throughout the game and were first to virtually everything.

We were laboured and clumsy and made half hearted attempts at a few tackles. One decent challenge all game by Shelvey, the rest were like a bunch of pansies.

Taylor very poor, Ben is miles ahead of him. Dyer and Lamah meh.. Thought Bony did pretty well tbf and then hammy goes.

Disappointing at home again. Yeah it's Valecia good team etc etc but we simply didn't turn up again.

Ref was useless as was the Lino and just about sums up a shite night all round.

Sums it up for me mate. Good post

We seem to have turned into a side without any passion in our play whatsoever. Something isn't right - particularly at home

Atmosphere was as flat as my ex-girlfriends tits as a result

You seem to be suggesting a lack of effort. That was simply not the case. The quality of the opposition will sometimes make it appear that way. Their tactics were spot on and we had some players in key positions like pozuelo and bony who couldnt control a settee tonight, who didn't perform.

And I think we may well have strolled in 7 or 8 against Nuneaton so the standard of the opposition is a factor too.

As an outsider (Bradford City fan with a soft spot for the Swans) I felt you were robbed by an atrocious decision, and that you played well against a good side. It's natural in the aftermath of a defeat to let your disappointment turn into criticism of the players, but for the record I didn't feel there was any lack of effort or commitment. You miss Michu, and lost Boni, which didn't help.
But be positive and remember where you were a few years ago. Now you're in Europe (with a bit of help from us!)

Take you're point mate, but I've seen us play better than that against some very good teams. Valencia didn't play Banega or Jonas tonight, which I would consider to be their best two players. We didn't get a sniff out of them all night whilst they strolled through two sometimes three of our 'tackles' and came away with the ball. They appeared stronger because they wanted it more....simples

I think I can see what you mean in terms of the opposition making it appear we weren't trying but I genuinely didn't see many occasions when we were busting a gut to make space or win the ball back.

Jonas played I thought lol

Natural disappointment can cloud judgement. I recall after beating Bradford in February listening to one of their fans saying that too many of their players didn't try ! They were outclassed but there was enough effort.

We deserved a draw against a classy outfit, with very few valencia survivors from the last game ( I think ).

You're right he did play

That's my argument out the window lol

But in all seriousness I get what you're saying but maybe I can't accept it yet.

I agree, however from before the kick off all I heard around me (lower West) was moaning as follows:-
Tickets and the DVLA
Laudrup
No beer at half time
Late kick off
No having a spare shirt
DIdn't go direct every time we had the ball
Failure to pass properly
Failure to shoot
Failure to kick the opposition players.
Boing at half time and end of the game
Cost of pop
Losing to Man CIty at the weekend
lack of support
lack of atmosphere
Each player in turn - though mostly Bony, Dyer, Pozuelo, Amat, Chico, Rangel, Dyer, Lamah and Shelvey. Oh yes and Taylor and Tremmel.
(OK we all moan after a game but before it and during?????) Why go?

Poll: Should Huw Jenkins step down?

Good to see they were not moaning about Leon then

Leon, Vasequez, Pablo and deGuzman (sorry ... ran out of keyboard )
new youth coach
no halftime flyer draw
distance to Switzerland
and no kids' penalties at half time

Just got back to Pembrokeshire from the game and read this thread, surprised nobody has mentioned WBs 2 headers before they scored both of which I thought he could have scored with. Taylor still does not look match sharp, JJS was brilliant one moment and s**t the next. for me AR was the MOTM. It has all been said about the ref and linos and now we have Howard Webb to look forward to next Wednesday! If when the Europa draw was made we had been told we would have aggregate 3 - 1 over Vallencia we would have been well pleased, it is the 2 late goals by KK that have undone us, but looks like we will be through to the last 32 so don't lets be too down about. Now time for bed.

Never knew getting old would happen so quick!

It's about time that SCFC complained about the standard of officials appointed to our matches.. ala The Baggies.
Blatant penalty for SCFC ... Not a fcukin hope
Never a penalty against SCFC... given of course
A good goal for SCFC.. disallowed of course

Great viewing these days at the Liberty.
Pay £35 or £45 to see your team screwed.... great value... NOT

Precisely precisely

If that's the way we intend to treat these games then I don't give a stuff whether we qualify or not, as any half decent team (and most will be, and Valencia certainly were last night) will take us out easily.

Could be.

What's Laudrup's overall record at the clubs he's managed in the second season?
