How many points needed for 5th/6th? 22:25 - Feb 14 with 2971 viewsstainrods_elbow

The top 4 seem to over the hill and far away in some combo or other, but it looks like it could be lowish, with Blackburn sitting in at 5th, 4 points ahead of us with 12 defeats. We have 13 games left, for which I could foresee a return of 7W, 3D, and 3L at best, which would give us a 68 point finish.

What's been the lowest points tally to sneak into the playoffs, does anyone know?

And what's realistic/heartfelt (delete according to personality type)?

Best odds I can find now on making top 6 is 28/1 but still an amazing bet if anyone seriously thinks we will do it

68 pts to have any chance which would be something like W7 D3 L3 in last 13. 20/1 or 5% chance seems about right to me.

Really need to beat Portsmouth next and not lose the March home games as a minimum.
After the start to the season it’s great to be in with even a slight chance of the playoffs.

In the last 20 years the lowest points total was 68 by Leicester in 2012-13 to reach the play offs. That was quite a freakish season though as Hull got automatic promotion with 79 points and this was the infamous Peterborough relegation with 54.
