Same as the Wednesday ref, no protection for ball players.

millwall match tread ? on 16:54 - Feb 1 with 2692 views | RangersDave | yeah, more steel....wonder where we could have got that up till recently? Trouble is, how do you replace Jimmy? And, more importantly, How do you let Jimmy go?

millwall match tread ? on 16:55 - Feb 1 with 2655 views | Logman | Unlucky second half. Gave it a good go. Was half expecting us to come out and play turgidly. Looked good going forward, less so at the back - unusually
millwall match tread ? on 16:56 - Feb 1 with 2596 views | baz_qpr | Did not think we played to bad in the end, the Korean looks useful, thought we looked better after the subs. At the end of the day defence and keeper have cost us the game today. Back to back losses but more worryingly is the goals against. Need to tighten up at the back again
millwall match tread ? on 16:56 - Feb 1 with 2593 views | dm97 | Better second half. Saito and Yang much more threatening than Chair and Smyth today. Massive issues in the defensive line now Dunne is presumably off. If they don’t sign a proper RB in next couple days, wouldn’t be comfortable going into rest of season. Hope the new LB (if true) comes in and replaces Paal quickly. His set piece delivery is so so so poor. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Add someone who can actually get a shot on target... to my request for some steel in the side. The games have got tougher recently, so I hope we aren't starting another winless run. 12 points should do it...I hope 🤔 [Post edited 1 Feb 16:59]

millwall match tread ? on 16:56 - Feb 1 with 2562 views | QPunkR | Disappointing today as we were the better team for most of that I'd say - definitely in the last half hour - but defended like fuxxing tarts. A few positives going forward despite that. Seriously time to consider dropping Chair for Koki based on the last few games though

millwall match tread ? on 16:59 - Feb 1 with 2434 views | StreathamRanger | There'll be the usual overreactions on here but for me it comes down to the second goal. We gifted it to them and then invited them to see the game out. We've played worse and won this season. Subs worked well. Some brave decisions need to be made. Chair shouldn't start on Tuesday. Cook and Morrison back as CB. Edwards did okay at RB and will be interesting to see if this kid from Chelsea can replace Paal at LB. I'm not sure I'll be able to sit through another 90 minutes of Paal corners on Tuesday without totally losing my mind.

millwall match tread ? on 16:38 - Feb 1 by paulparker | These refs are a disgrace The only way Alfie is going to win a free kick is if the defender shoots him with a gun |
Honestly, THE worst refereeing display I have seen. Not his fault we lost; their second goal was disgraceful by our senior pros at CB. What capped the refs performance was the last action of that game. The subbed players came on during the 4 minutes. The ball went out on 93:24. It took them 36 seconds to take the kick and then the ref blows up. Scandalous. Not an awful defeat, but that second goal was awful. Cook shanking his clearance and Fox turning into a statue when the ball came back off the bar. Edward's clear MoM again...

millwall match tread ? on 17:01 - Feb 1 with 2410 views | mart_Goblin | Really piss*ed off to lose that . We gave it a real go and deserved a point I thought . Positives were loans unfortunately. Edwards very very good indeed. Saito excellent . Korean kid looks confident and lively . The ball retention and general quality from some of our more experienced players is now starting to do my head in . Paal and Field in particular but they ain’t the only ones. Field does other things very well of course, but if we can’t keep the bloody ball then winning games is very difficult. Ok to be constructively critical this week or will the poppets still be reading this on the way home ?
millwall match tread ? on 17:05 - Feb 1 with 2241 views | benhurst | Today was a bit of a free hit with Marti not being there but it's disappointing to come away from that with nothing, especially with most of the game happening in their half. Cook/Fox particularly culpable, but good to see Lloyd get a deserved goal and Saito looking sharp off the bench again. Need a better performance and result on Tuesday to get back on track now before we start sliding down the table.

millwall match tread ? on 17:09 - Feb 1 with 2133 views | Benny_the_Ball | A scrappy affair which suited Millwall and the way they play better. Too much upheaval, on and off the pitch, contributed to a largely disjointed performance. The absence of Jimmy led to Ronnie covering at RB which, in turn, resulted in a Cook/Fox central defensive partnership that lacks pace and creativity. As neither are incisive passers of the ball more often than not the ball out of defence was long. If Ronnie is to continue at RB then we need Morisson or JCS to return alongside Cook to inject some pace and passing ability that can beat the press and break lines. [Post edited 1 Feb 17:42]

millwall match tread ? on 17:18 - Feb 1 with 1926 views | Rsole | Disrupted with Jimmy/Marti absent, bullied by the big boys (again) and not clinical enough (again). Add in some poor performances by some key players, plus an awful referee and it always looked like an uphill battle to salvage anything. Edwards looked good, Saito made a big difference when he came on and Alfie’s goal was well taken. Bad day at the office for some others - Nardi had one of his worst games, Cookie isn’t really fit, Chair was miles off it and Smyth hardly saw the ball. I guess they had to start Cook because of Jimmy but that was probably a game too early IMO.

Why did Dunne not playing have any bearing on that result? Their goals came down our left-hand side, between Paal and Fox. Millwall targeted that area. Cook, Fox and Field are not suited to playing passing football. Constantly giving it away.

Indeed and not helped by the massive void on the left in front of them. We just invited them into the space and they took fills advantage of that.

millwall match tread ? on 17:36 - Feb 1 with 1554 views | ManinBlack | Our record in London derbies has been bad for years so with Millwall being similar to us in beating the better teams at home and losing to teams down the bottom this season I kind of expected to lose without Marti and Dunne. Three wins in a row for Alex Neill this week rather hard to believe.
millwall match tread ? on 17:36 - Feb 1 with 1545 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Absolute crap today. Much better once Saito was on so hopefully he starts on Tuesday instead of Chair who was appalling. Has Fox reacted to the ball hitting the bar yet? I've had it with Paal now. Absolute crap from him today - their goals came down his side, he did his usual crap corners and he can't beat defenders. Why the hell is Ashby still here? Another crap cameo. We basically need two new full backs. So frustrating as we're still within touching distance of the play-offs despite two successive defeats.
