Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 16:12 - Jan 11 by derbyhoop | No great surprise, although the scoreline just reflects the difference between PL and Championship finishing. Ashby should be having nightmares over his mistakes. A decent 20 minutes spell needs to extended to 90 when league action resumes |
Your 2nd sentence largely negates your first. Most of the goals today were due to our suicidal defending, and would have been punished in the Champ.

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 15:59 - Jan 11 by Toast_R | You know we're going to lose the next two games gauranteed. This result has the hallmark of an absolute confidence busting embarrassment. You rest the players, get thumped and then start throwing on the players you wanted to rest anyway. It's an abomination. From the very textbook of fckups that QPR have been preaching from for more years than I care to remember. 4500 fans went, and got this? |
If I'd written this, I'd probably get excommunicated! 'Abomination' is a bit much, but we shot ourselves in the foot so many times today with that selection! If the 4,500 aren't at least a little mardy, they bloody well should be.

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 16:11 - Jan 11 by stainrods_elbow | Marti actually made 6 changes from the Luton game, including the keeper, both central defenders, in midfield, and at centre forward, of which perhaps one (for me) was justified. Chair aside, Nardi, Dunne, Morgan and Frey are currently our best players. I call that managerially irresponsible and the result predictable (and interestingly 50% of the fanbase on my poll tonight currently agree). |
50% of the people on here. Not the fan base and there will also be people who haven't voted either way. So what point are you making?

He had a very poor game and I’m surprised he wasn’t replaced but MC doesn’t usually do that . He sees a bigger picture in harming his confidence long term and letting the player play his way out of poor form . He left fox on V Portsmouth when we all thought he should be hooked. He just needs to learn when to try difficult things and when to do it simple . At the moment he wants to try tricks in flicks in too many dangerous areas . Was napping for the penalty too and generally was poor but these things happen to all players . It’s how he recovers I think . I do think Edwards will play next week and Dunne will play right back . Difficult game for Edwards and JCS too wasn’t it

No, they wouldn't. Teams in the PL are there because they are more ruthless. We make lots of mistakes in games that are not punished. We get away with an awful lot in fact, but these are not shown in the Sky highlights so you probably never see them. Today, yes was disappointing, but not very surprising considering where we are as a club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 16:20 - Jan 11 with 1020 views | BushRanger82 | This is what happens when a club doesn't take the FA Cup competition seriously. You don't make changes to a winning side, if you really have serious intentions of making a bold try for cup glory. Our attitude to the trophy competitions, is why our 'honours' list is so pathetic. And yet another 3rd round exit to add to a very long, very sorry, list.
Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 16:21 - Jan 11 with 991 views | Rsole | Fees like one of the main objectives for the game was to show that Madsen needs a loan and we need another couple of players on loan ourselves. Not a great look if that is true but it’s the only logic that can be applied in my knee jerk reaction. Would it have been any better if we’d played different players or made subs earlier, we will never know but there were times we more than held our own in the first half and I strongly suspect we could easily have had a better outcome with some simple changes in selection. Colback for Madsen was an obvious tweak. He’s got more experience, nous and defensive abilities. He gets stuck in and would have told everything else to do the same. With Cookie out, his leadership would have been a difference too. (I say all of that with the proviso that I don’t really like Colback but I am aware he has some attributes that would have been useful today and much more appreciated than the alternative).

By 'fanbase', I mean that (I'd suggest more intelligent and informed) portion of the fanbase who post on here - rather obviously, I'd have thought! Happy to make that clear. As for my 'point', I presumed the poll, and my post, spoke for themselves, so not sure what your issue is here.

If that analysis is remotely right, I think Marti's clearly wrong. Why sacrifice an F A Cup game for the sake of the 'bigger picture' - and with a loanee to boot? I find that mystifying (both you and MC)!

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread. on 15:53 - Jan 11 by BklynRanger | For me we were shakey first 10 or 15, really good and positive for the next 25ish, and needed 2 or 3 things addressed through subs at halftime which didn't happen. But overall, not good enough defensively would be an understatement. |
Let's face it though, their frontline alone is probably worth £70 million. We were playing a makeshift defence and are having to be careful with our CDs as we already have Cook and Morrison out. We had to rest Morgan, Smyth and Dunne more because we've played an awful lot recently and they're so vital to us we can't afford to lose them atm, than because of when we're playing next. I agree we should have subs at halftime though.

I watch every single QPR game on a club feed/stream (with multiuple camera angles and replays etc etc), and then often again on the website/BBC, so I've no idea why you're another who seems to know more about my life than I do. Defend like we did today in the Champ, and for me we get our pants pulled down - maybe not 6-2, but we lose that game. That's my opinion, and you're welcome to disagree of course, but that's all we're sharing either way. If anything, though, what you say is actually ballast for us playing a full-strength side, which Marti decided not to, and brings me back to my down vote in the poll with the other 50%.

Agree. We make plenty of mistakes in the league - BUT - either the oppo can’t finish or Nardi and Cook save, block and last ditch tackle. We’d have conceded loads more league goals without their individual interventions this year. Leicester were clinical today and that highlighted where we are (in terms of development) and why we are there too.

If we send Ashby back, who is our back up right back? Santos nowhere near the level required. I'm not suggesting we keep Ashby beyond this season but he's been getting better recently. Had a mare today. Presumably Dunne in at RB next game, Cook and Morrison might not be too much longer. Ashby probably only plays another half a dozen games between now and the end of the season. Seems everyone has taken against him largely because he's a loan player. That's part of the modern game. Almost all clubs in the championship have players on loan.

Fair assessment I think . Expected a sub or 2 at half time myself and we didn’t pounce on the momentum turning our way with Kolli’s goal . 5 mins later it’s too late
