Simon Guage has just been on BBC Radio Manchester indicating another intersted party has now also issued a letter of intent and it will be announced later.

A true "Golden Share", as defined in Recommendation 28 of the Fan-Led Revue for Football Governance does place safeguards on the stadium. Safeguards on the ground form the first two points of the definition. Club badge, 1st Team Home Colours and Name are also in there - as is a further provision regarding competitions other that FIFA, UWFA, FA designated ones.

An interested party should not be going public with "Golden Share" without qualifying that it is "Golden Share as defined by the Fan-Led Review". Anything other than this is misleading. It's not that there is nothing to stop a new owner from engaging with fans regarding a new home - it's more that the Golden Share should make it mandatory that the Group holding the Golden Share are fully agreed with the changes - otherwise the veto can be employed.

It is an important clarification and one for The Trust to raise. Given the background of Mr Corrado I would find it difficult to believe that the Stadium is on the long term agenda. I'm not against a spanky new stadium - but it should be one that fans are in agreement with.

Don’t think it’s the fact whether it’s about a shiny new stadium, more about the fact there’ll be no stadium at all!

They haven't just come forward - they've been in the background for a while. According to their press release they attended 2 matches in February. I assume that the Board has been doing Due Diligence in the meantime.....

Yes, I understand that - my point was in relation to the fact that one of the parties was such a boyhood fan of the Dale that the club has been up for sale for 18 months or 5 years+, whichever time period/regime you choose, and only when the asking price of £1.98m and a quick share purchase sale surfaces, does an LOI materialise from them. It may just be timing. Equally, it may not.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Perhaps the Trust can ask TFC why the interest now and not 12mths/18mths or even two years ago.....
Same with WSH.

I’d guess it’s to do with how there wasn’t 90% of ownership being discussed back then.

We've constantly been told that the complex share structure was a major complication, when trying to attract new investors. Now that this hurdle has potentially been overcome, maybe we will be inundated with LOI's from some of the other people who had been supposedly sniffing around.

We'll see.
