The transfer window deadline day thread 21:03 - Jan 27 with 28817 views | KeithHaynes | Could be the most interesting day in years. Clubs are playing some serious chess games. And agents are going to ensure it’s better than any soap opera.

The transfer window deadline day thread on 00:03 - Feb 1 by dobjack2 | Total shambles - it would be interesting to know why all the deals we had apparently been working on turned to dust. Whittaker returns for Obafemi but what is his preferred/best position? Are there no decent right backs in the world? Was Grant a long term target or a last minute attempt by Winter with the Huddersfield connection? Will anyone at the club tell the truth about this mess? Tune into next weeks episode of Swansea City Soap opera. |
What is the point of having that Josh whatever his name is in charge of recruitment? We actually pay him to identify players that we will never sign. We have scouts that find players we will never sign! All a bit pointless really eh?

I knew it to good to be true proven goal scorer coming here. Wba have been allowed to shaft us. We are 6 players down and good bye play offs. Ffs

I do not believe Martin could ever deliver a play off place this season. Whittaker back and the Man city lad smith must be first teamers. But Smith is a left back to replace Manning next season not the right back needed to give Latibeaudiere a break this season.

Will he be ready next season? Look at veevers from man u last year. We had a chance this year, we were outsiders but still within punching range. Do you think there is a chance Morgan will do an obafemi? His big money move has just been pulled. Will he be 'adamant he wanted to join rangers' I totally agree we needed a natural right wing back. Unless there is manning and lati contract this week. I hope we all show these custodians who's club it is.
The transfer window deadline day thread on 04:19 - Feb 1 with 1918 views | jojaca | This is last time I spend looking daily with half excitement for potential signings in transfer windows. What anti climax!, still not renewed season tickets yet.
| Even when you know, you never know? |

The transfer window deadline day thread on 04:46 - Feb 1 with 1900 views | angryjack | Lots and lots of people I know not renewing season tickets, and about time too,why should people still be putting hard earned money into club, when they give nothing back..
The transfer window deadline day thread on 06:09 - Feb 1 with 1847 views | Dr_Winston | Probably a better outcome than wasting money on players that Martin either doesn't want, won't use properly or fall out with and drop from the squad. Nobody has left who anyone wanted to keep, and now we're facing the entertaining prospect of Russy having to swallow his pride and try to fit Whittaker into his plans, when really he'd have been hoping that the entire problem just went away.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

That’s how I see it. Obafemi hasn’t played for the last 7 games and was on the bench for the 3 out of 4 previous as Martin dropped him. Some people expected Pato to leave, although I maintained he would probably stay. So in terms of options, we have swapped Whittaker for Obafemi and from what I have heard relationships are slowly being mended AGAIN with Pato who is in contention again for a place in the squad. It’s as we were, with the extra option of Pato potentially coming back. Martin has to just backtrack real quick with Whittaker and make him feel he is part of things. I can’t think of anyone we missed out on that is going to particularly be a miss for us. Grant would not have lasted 2 seconds under Martin, doesn’t run, lazy, loses possession, can’t pass. That sounds like a last minute desperation one.

We're thin on the ground squad wise with quality,no right wing back come in when it's clear lati is rubbish, one two injuries and we down bare bones, fisher gets injured and we playing a rookie, the club is a disgrace well stay up club watch rugby sat instead try and give my ticket away but that's a job in itself these days
The transfer window deadline day thread on 08:00 - Feb 1 with 1680 views | magicdaps10 | Notice some press guys who are quite loyal to the Swans and sit on the fence have really gone the other way this morning and are having knocks at the owners. Personally think that this is the beginning of the end for these Americans with us. Poor show and you will have to be digging deep to defend that joke of a window.

“ Poor show and you will have to be digging deep to defend that joke of a window.” Couldn’t they use the same excuses you make for the manager then? Why are the owners any different? 1. Patience 2. Part of the process 3. We have been in a worse situation before where we haven’t spent anything 4. They are still learning Isn’t it fair that excuses made for a bad 18 months on the field can be used for 1 bad month off it? The inconsistency here is what I find crazy. To excuse Martins performance by saying we were rubbish before, so perspective needed…. And then have this view regarding performance elsewhere is barmy. As a fan base we need some honesty and integrity. This changing of reality to suit is so tiring. - Martin performance so far, awful. - Owners performance in January, awful. Consistent.

The thing there's, with the owners letting Martin down with lack of recruitment, it's still an excuse for him. Same thing happened to Cooper, owners copping out when with a few decent investments we could be looking up; after this window we are looking down instead. How many points from safety are we because the gap betwixt us and relegation isn't massive; a few injuries, illnesses, suspensions or fallings out and we could be in trouble. Do the owners really expect a play off push after this? Mind made up, not renewing our seasons. A message needs to be sent but enough of us need to send it for it to register. The books obviously need to be balanced but this is cut after cut and damaging our club...OUR club.

The transfer window deadline day thread on 09:28 - Feb 1 with 1468 views | johnlangy | We are owned by a bunch of con men. Simple as that. They don't give a damn about our Club. I pray that someone with just an ounce of integrity comes in to buy us.
The transfer window deadline day thread on 09:30 - Feb 1 with 1466 views | Yossarian | Well that’s it. If this club weren’t prepared to back Cooper the. they’re not going to back Martin, especially after they backed him over Darling and Fisher. To see how Potter and Cooper have done since they left us is enough evidence to know this club is going only one way under the current ownership. Where has all the money gone? This latest fiasco has finished me. After 15 years as a Season Ticket Holder and a supporter since 1969, I’m not renewing.

I think it’s been obvious for the last couple of seasons that the Yanks want to balance the books….stay in the Championship….and nurture young players to sell for a decent profit. That is the total of their ambition.

Treading water while they arrange to sell. Balance the books, little or no debt, minimal running costs and comfortable in mid table. For me the aim is obvious, just get it done sooner rather than later.
The transfer window deadline day thread on 10:36 - Feb 1 with 1266 views | Dr_Parnassus | But what are people expecting out of the next owners? In 100+ years of history only these owners have put their own money into it without saddling the club with debt. It’s extremely likely our next owners will not put their own money in, and if they do it may well be in the form of debt - which we don’t want. Not sure what people are complaining about.

I suppose the main complaint is being misled by the background chatter from the club saying plans were in place to bring players in. No one enjoys being lied to.

Plans are plans, they don’t always come off. You can’t legislate for clubs asking too much, players not wanting to come, clubs pulling out due to a transfer elsewhere falling though. They didn’t once say they were going to be bringing in a host of players and spending oodles of cash. I think it’s being prepped as an excuse for further failure this season. The truth is we had a very good squad before the window and we still do now. The only player we lost is one who hasn’t really played a part in the last half of the season so far.
