I say No… I am not aligned to Conservative, Labour, Liberal, etc,etc.. I think love him or hate him he would get my vote… (Hopefully not a huge politics thread) 😀

He won't, he will have to be pushed and maybe the MP's of red wall seats that turned blue on slithers of majorities will. I can't see what the report from Sue Greysuit will achieve especially when BJ has the final say. ITV - Limitless win, not seen it yet but does the winner get awarded a PPE contract?

This. Politics is a risky subject on a football messageboard so if we're doing this, please tread carefully and respect others' opinions, no matter how hard they are to read. That being said, I think this government, and prime minister have been nothing short of a disgrace. His position has become untenable with the never-ending breaches alone. Hancock and the mistress, Cummings and his eyesight, the one rule for us, no rules for them, covid response in care homes, the imminent cost of living crisis that simply won't affect them, or their peers but will hit the working class and poorer parts of society like a freight train etc. The list is seemingly endless. "We got Brexit done" - The 15 mile queue of lorries heading into Dover and the huge supply issues many are facing would say that statement isn't all it claims to be. He should resign, he never ever will because he's the most narcissistic person on the planet. He has the Met Police on strings, he has the speaker of the house on strings as well. I've never hated a government as much as I do this one.

I think you should say what you REALLY mean and come off the fence. That said, you are perfectly correct when you say that ALL opinions should be respected. They can be discussed, debated and ripped apart, but ultimately they are personally held views and that needs to be accepted and respected by everyone. We should all be able to talk freely and frankly, about our thoughts and opinions without resorting to personal insults and still chat amicably over a beer afterwards. Bigger narcissist than a former employee ?? Doubt that. Up the Dale.

Just on the "minus pounds for us taxpayers" point, does anyone really think that after bankrolling a million businesses (rightly) through the pandemic that the taxpayers weren't going to take a hit? We now have more people (including young people) in employment than pre-pandemic and the economy is rebounding very rapidly indeed, well ahead of almost all competing economies due to our earlier release from lockdown and ability to determine our own economic choices Has Boris made grievous errors of judgement? Absolutely, and not least the employment of Dominic Cummings who's on a personal vendetta to oust him. Have the major decisions been taken which sees us much better placed now to take us forward? Absolutely, and that gives me pause for thought during the constant media pile on I'll reserve further judgement for a while yet [Post edited 21 Jan 2022 12:27]

None of the current actions and reactions should surprise you. Ditto Trump. I would hate to think we get what we deserve.

It's the pounds for his cronies and donors in itself that should be enough to bring him down in my opinion. The vaccine roll-out is the only redeeming feature but we must really thank the NHS for that. Dreadful populist government and I think a lot of Tories would be happy if he went.

100% "We got all the big decisions right" They got one major decision right in my opinion and that is the vaccine. We have over 150,000 lives lost, and aside from Russia, the highest death toll in the whole of Europe.

Come on Joe don’t be reticent, if you want a separate thread I love love to hear some views on Rees Mogg. Polite when addressing an individual face to face he may be, but never have I come across a senior politician more out of touch with the working class. Funny how his hedge fund company always seems to be able to guess correctly what the government intends to do economically.

Let's wait for the long-term average mortality rates to come out Recent indications are that the vast majority of those 150000 died WITH covid rather than FROM covid. Are other countries counting the same way? Let's see. As indicated, i'm not going to make further judgement on that (either) until, the full facts come out

But are all taxpayers taking the same hit - the number of millionaires in the world increased by 5.2 million during the pandemic - "The gap between the richest in UK society and the rest of the population has widened over the 10-year period to 2020" - ONS More people are in work but they're earning less - between April 19 & 20 median weekly earnings decreased by 0.9%. Inflation rate is expected to reach a 30-year high of 6% + in April - when energy tariffs will leap by an estimated 50% - and an increase in social security contributions also starts. But integrity isn't ranked against economics, heath or any other marker - Mussolini's trains ran well, Hitler designed autobahns but even Rees Mogg wouldn't defend them - leaders are required to be at the front of the pain and difficulties not dissembling and avoiding responsibility for what is done in their name.
