What do we still need? 14:04 - Sep 12 with 7015 views | TomRAFC | The obvious gaps for me are a left back and another out and out striker. Preferably a left back who can get forward in the same way to McLaughlin and an experienced physical presence kind of striker. Some Newby/Baah/Done can run off. Who's out there/who would you realistically like to see signed up?

What do we still need? on 14:12 - Sep 12 with 5730 views | boromat | In order of priority 1) First choice left back 2) An experienced striker to fill out the squad. 3) Competition up top probably a loanee. Someone with pace who can play centrally or down the flanks. 4) Maybe another midfielder. I'm starting to get a bit nervous with Rathbone having interest in him and Lund and Ryan struggling to be fit already think one more might be a good idea if possible.

What do we still need? on 14:37 - Sep 12 with 5483 views | isitme | A first choice left back and an experienced central striker are essential. Outside of that a few loan signings who can play in midfield or forward areas would be nice.

Not someone I’d particularly want at our football club tbh. Good luck to the lad who is clearly looking for £4/£500k a year, at 17 and not exactly being touted as a superstar of the future (I’m sure Greenwood is the same age?) MU are one of the richest clubs in the world and he’s deemed them not good enough for himself, you wonder what kind of people get in these kid’s heads. [Post edited 13 Sep 2020 10:41]

Good to see that so called newspaper supporting our young footballers by bringing up stories of mistakes made when they were younger, that have no bearing on their current careers. Yes he and Foden were stupid in what they did, however it won’t do any of them any good to have so called newspapers trawling round their past and highlighting their minor mistakes. How about highlighting all of their accomplishments?

I'm sure their accomplishments get a pretty decent airing fhD Fwiw, i've never believed footballers should be treated as role models, they're just ordinary human beings with a particular skill and too much money to spend

It's on BBC Sport, not a newspaper? Agree though, I never read tabloids they are absolute scum. EDIT: Just seen they took the story from The Sun, that explains everything. [Post edited 13 Sep 2020 12:13]

You are right in the role model thing. I just get sick of the hypocrisy of these so called newspapers, who claim to be patriotic, but find ways of undermining our sport-stars. Yes report the facts about current misdemeanours but please don’t trawl past history about very minor misdemeanours that have no bearing on whether they will do well for our national team. Let’s find out about the misdemeanours of these reporters after all they will have a completely spotless past, won’t they?

What do we still need? on 14:34 - Sep 13 with 4754 views | Ancoats_Blue | Someone posted a perhaps tongue in cheek request for Joe Garner at Wigan. He’d certainly do a job in this league, fits the experienced and proven goal scorer remit and with Wigan in the state they’re in I can see him moving on. We probably can’t meet his wage demands though so a non starter. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bunney back as he can fill both LB and forward gaps when required. Wilbraham returning also wouldn’t surprise me.

Bunney isn’t good enough, and Wilbraham is too old. I’d like to see neither

As a back up I think Wilbraham could be OK for one more season. He seems quite fit (ooer). But unless Baah or Tavares start holding down regular starts and scoring we need more than that. I’m just hoping if/when Bunney reappears it’s the Bunney that seemed to he involved in every other chance we had for about 15 games a few years ago. Maybe not though...
