So after seeing all the friendlies... how would you start for the first team?? I think we have looked better with 2 strikers on.. and Borja looks like he can do some good things this time around..

If the game against Atlanta is anything to go by.. we looked too slow on our attacking build up. But as soon as we had 2 strikers on.. we looked so much better.

I'd go:

Roberts, VDH, Rodon, John
Byers, Grimes
Dyer, Celina, Routledge
OMB

Which leaves us with really good options to change it up in the second half.

Not for me. Think Cooper will eventually come to the same conclusion Potter did for our midfield.

Fulton is more stable, Byers goes very quickly from very excited to head down - skilful though.

Roberts and Kyle is a close call.

Big difference between them is how rarely Fulton offers for the ball. We find it harder to play out when he's on the pitch, especially late on in games when players tire. Byers far from perfect but he wants the ball and to keep it moving.

Less of an issue when you've got both Oli and Borja to go long towards, as Mulder started doing in the second half today.

it was close between Naughton and Roberts, then I checked the pre season games and found that when Naughton was playing, there were no goals conceded, it's not much but it swung it.

I think if you're playing OMB & Baston, Fulton gets in. If not, there's a place for Byers.

Byers is better on he ball, Fulton is better winning the ball.

I've had a check for games we lost last season:

out of 45 games roberts played in, we lost 16 times = 35.5% of games he played in were losses.

out of 35 games naughton played in, we lost 10 times = 28.5% of games he played were loses.

if you look at the age difference, roberts will improve where naughton will get slower, so naughton is just edging it at the moment.
