He done ok for us, I'd never class him as an outstanding manager though. Not a patch on Brendan or Laudrup.

Extremely disappointed with Potter who I consider to be even less honourable than Roberto.
If has gone - thanks for the year and now I don't give a toss about him.
BUT
After Roberto we improved with Sousa
After Sousa we improved with Rodgers
After Rodgers we improved with Laudrup
Martinez and Rodgers of whom chose to leave, took coaching staff and players and we had no money for recruits nor did we have an academy cover belt. |
Difference being at that time we were on an upward curve. This time the curve is flat at best, downward in reality. The feeling around the club is negative. These things can snowball at an alarming rate - exhibit A being the Toshack era.
We are a very different club to how we were before we got to the PL. My glass is very much half empty now. Last season, even at the low points i was always half full and happy enough with the progression even tho many were moaning. Today has been a kick in the balls.

Seriously bad news. The green shoots of a return to an upwards trajectory were clearly visible. Who knows what this does to that progress. The Ayew x2 and Baston wages are a serious noose around our neck and this has contributed massively to this development. |  |
