Lisa Stansfield on t'tram 08:48 - Sep 28 with 5221 viewssmaclad1

As if having to get the tram at 6.30 this morning wasn't bad enough - to also have Lisa Stansfield gormlessly bellowing 'I've been around the world aye aye aye, isn't the tram great' etc at you just about puts you over the edge.

Something to do with BBC music day - www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2018/music-day-singing-stars

Seems that LS will be appearing on a music tram - while it would probably an extra incentive, if you're so minded, to lob a brick at the Oldham/Rochdale service, no doubt it will be on the Piccadilly/Media City line to entertain the luvvies and keep her away from the chavs.

Also says that Blossoms will be appearing at a surprise location - to narrow it down, I'd suggest Stockport bus station, Stockport rail station, Stockport town hall, Stockport public lavvy....

Heard that myself!

Shouts out, I've been around the world and the Metro is the best. If that's the case, she's been bloody nowhere because I can assure you it isn't the best!

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

The comment about lobbing a brick is out of order considering the number of times it has actually happened recently. Causes distress and possible harm to drivers and passengers.

I did not advocate lobbing a brick and used the comment for dramatic effect to express my dissatisfaction with having to listen to gormless bellowing over the Metrolink and the possibility of LS howling away on a tram on which I was travelling. I know it has happened - my comment was also a piece of social commentary.

Loads of stuff can cause distress and possible harm - been on a bus when the window next to me was shot out, been on a train when a bloke was waving a knife around about 20 feet from me. Not nice, but it happens.

Open spaces can cause distress and possible harm to agoraphobics - let's do away with open spaces.

With all of those things happening around you are you sure that it's not you that they are after?

After I had posted I remembered a relevant Dale related incident of, many years ago, being on the supporters' coach coming back from bury when it got bricked.

I think they were aiming for the wife on that occasion...

How did they know what Chalky's wife looked like?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

I don't know what's worse smaclad, your OP being voted down or you apologising for it to appease the feeble minded who took it that you endorsed bricking coaches.

This is not the time for bickering.

Appeasing? Not likely.

I fully accept content in my original post was wrong. Blossoms appeared in Manchester.

That's absolutely shocking!

Why would you get on a supporters bus to go six miles?

Because all the car parking around Gigg has been sold to raise money to fund the five year plan to reach League Two again.

It was a long long time ago, not sure when exactly, but would have been early days for following Dale and probably not long after I had moved to Rochdale. Coaches were run by the Supporters Club back then, and it was thro' one of the Committee that I was persuaded to go to the Dale. Even tho' the 471 ran close by to where I was living, as a south Mancunian I had probably only ever been thro' bury on the 400 bus. All things considered, it probably seemed like a good idea to go by coach at that time.

Speaking of those, a friend of a friend bought one of those spaces and they’ve been paying out, until a few months ago when the payments have suddenly and mysteriously ceased, with no way to contact the company who sold them.

Relax!
I'm only on a chain pulling mission.
You get to the games how you like, it's not really anybody else's business is it?

Especially mine!

There was a supporters coach for Spotland to Bury though? That's seems mad,why would anyone bother using it,there probably is a quicker, more convenient and cheaper bus nearby surely?

Last week there was a supporters coach from the Harbour View, Roker to the Stadium of Light. One mile. Quicker to walk.

I can half see the logic in that they are providing a service in a strange city but going to Burys ground from from Spotland just doesn't seem right, maybe they felt safer with the police escort to the ground and out again afterwards (I'm presuming they got one)

A Sunderland supporters coach for a one mile trip to Sunderland's ground.

Away fans were invited along as well. I walked and although it can be walked in 20 minutes to walk, I got...distracted a couple of times along the way and needed to stop for additional refreshment so it took considerably longer.

Dale haven't run a supporters coach to bury for years, so it must be a while since smaclad's experience.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

"A long long time ago" I think I said. I suppose if you're in your teens a long time ago is a week last Thursday. Sadly, in my case, it would have been late 80's/early 90's.
