Should E20jack/Dimi be banned again? on 19:00 - Aug 1 by jacksfullaces
anonymously trying to prove your intellect on a football message board by 'winning' arguments with strangers does appear to be an odd pass time, but it takes all sorts folks.
there is obviously a certain type of personality that feels the need to engage in return though.
trolls and fish, 'tis the way of the world.
am sure a psychologist would have plenty to say about both sets of behaviour.
maybe one already has ...?
Just a reminder this isn't the real world, and that's where arguments are best won and lost. They might actually matter there.
Anonymously complaining about people debating on a football forum also has to be up there.

Ah, this the real world. I am real, you are real, Drizzy is real, E20 is real (I think) and the internet is real. Think of the internet like a phone connecting real people, no matter their location, so they can have real conversations. Why do you think an argument that takes place off the internet matters more than one that takes place on the internet? If a husband and wife have an argument at home or even over the phone when one is in work, why does that make it any more or less important than if the were arguing by email? If we, the good folk of Planet Swans, were all in the same room having the same arguments why would those arguments matter more?
Good luck, Mr Cooper

Because he, and others of similar ilk, have a pre conceived idea of who is allowed to have opinions and who isn’t. Depends if he likes the username or not. If he doesn’t then you are a troll, if he does then you are well rounded poster. That’s an Internet forum for you, god forbid the notion that people are treated equally, although if they did then everyone would be banned and everyone would be a troll, far better to use the term selectively when you can use it against a view you don’t particularly want to hear.

not going to get into something existential about what is real, but a message board is more one dimensional and personas can be created in more simplistic terms.
It clearly means more to other people and their reputations than it does to me. I occasionally need to remark on this.
I'm not necessarily referring to the internet as a whole, but the anonymity on a message board
All a bit futile IMO
Interested in all opinions, the relentless need to be right intrigues me.
Uppa Swans, that's the main reason I drop by ...
