The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 19:53 - May 14 by JACKMANANDBOY | Ahem, I've watched Ayew. |
if you listen carefully you can still hear west ham laughing so don't mention ayew again it just devalues any argument you put forward. he spends most of the time sliding and falling over. a montage of his season is like watching torville and dean except theres no fun looking at his arse when he falls over.

Most of us were laughing when we mugged West Ham out of 20 million. I cant believe that after a poor 18 months there, we basically gave them all their money back.

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 00:29 - May 15 by omarjack | Additional names: -Shane Long on loan (f*ck me but it sounds reasonable) -Mason Mount (Chelsea youngster,an attacking midfielder, spent season with Vitesse in Holland, scored 8 and created 7 assists, seems decent for the Champs?) -Snodgrass (did ok with Villa this season) -Harry Wilson (a big reason why Hull pulled through in the 2nd half of the season,a truly promising talent for Liverpool,we can help him develop with our very potent and smooth midfield lol..) -Nsame (scored 12 goals in the Swiss league with Young Boys, who won the League) -Nelson Oliveira (I imagine many are familiar with him) -Forestieri (played for Carlos with Sheffield Wed,had an injury ridden season and rehab due to an operation, but he's solid when fit) -Bahoken (available for free,we were linked with him even before relegation) -Belfodil (was very close to joining Everton 2 winters ago,he spent the season on loan with Werder Bremen, but he's a Standard Liege player in Belgium, pretty decent) -Bjorn Johnsen (winger, one of the top scorers in the Dutch League with Den Haag) -Linssen (very similar to Johnsen, plays for Vitesse) Brandley Kuwas (Heracles Almelo player, made a ton of assists, linked with Leeds I think?) -Miazga (CB,a Chelsea academy, spent season with Vitesse, solid) [Post edited 15 May 2018 0:29]

Miazga would be interesting. He's working to make his case to be the starting CB for the US National Team in the next World Cup Cycle. He's been solid all year at Viteese, and they want him back. I think he would consider a move to the Championship though if the allure of consistent playing time and a chance for PL Promotion is out there. Question is, what does Chelsea see in him?

He's not another Christensen, more like an Ake which they sold for a nice profit.

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 10:32 - May 15 with 5050 views | Gorkas_Uncle | How about some players that came through elite clubs but have never quite "done it" yet? Might have the technical ability we supposedly want to bring back. Thinking of players like Alvaro Medran (who I think is out of contract this summer?). Real Madrid, Spain youth, hitting his mid-twenties without having pulled up any trees... Similarly Joan Angel Roman - Barcelona and Man City, now in Cyprus. Also I think out of contract. Let's get some rinky dink Spaniards in! Another thought - Ross Barkley's not going to get back to full force by sitting on the bench at Chelsea, and they're not likely to trust him with much game time (whoever the manager is). Loan?

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 14:40 - May 14 by sP7qupUf | If Fabs leaves we will need a decent keeper. Nordfeldt would be a disaster. Useless at catching and commanding his box and far too often palms the ball back into play instead of turning it around the post. |
When Fab leaves, his replacement should be his international compatriot from Ipswich ... Bartosz Bialkowski ... Who was the Ipswich Players' Player of the Season for 2017/18
| Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎 |

You think we're going to spend enough to buy the star player of a division rival when we've already got a bunch of keepers on the books?

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 15:30 - May 15 with 4896 views | Devz00 | Danny Ward, already mentioned by Chief. We should definitely be looking at him. He's 24, needs to be playing and is 3rd choice at Liverpool who arguable need a new keeper anyway. He's already won promotion with Huddersfield, saving a pen in the play off final on the way. Thoughts? Would do his Wales chances no harm either. [Post edited 15 May 2018 15:31]

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 18:07 - May 15 with 4827 views | Dippy | It depends on what manager we're going to get in.. Some that are mentioned are not proper technical incisive players.. If we're going back to tiki tiki.. we need to look at the technical incisiveness.. Not the most 'robust'.. but quick and incisive.. De Vries - superb feet, up and down OK.. superb finger tips save in him.. rubbish on crosses. Chico - if we're looking for a CB.. it has to be in the mould of Chico.. not the most robust but incisive, quick witted. Davies - not the most robust.. not the quickest.. but incisive and determined when on the field. Rangel - not the most robust.. but incisive and aggressive. Britton - not the most robust.. but tenacious and incisive in possession. De Guzman - not the most robust.. but quick and incisive in possession. Shelvey - an enigma, but he can win you a game Hernandez - not the most robust, but incisive and could pick out needle pass, not bad on freekicks either Montero - not the most robust, but when he was on his game, he could give the best a run for his money Bony - Strong, Aerial aware.. not the best technically and rather slow. Michu - we're not going to get another Michu.. the man had different gears. What do we want? We don't know [Post edited 18 May 2018 1:13]

I think we need to look at relativel young, hungry, ambitious players who could make the step up were we to go back up soon. VDH, Roberts, Clucas, Carroll, McBurnie, Rodon, Ward, Wilson, Oztumer, Why on earth did we sell kingsley? How did Tyler Reid do on loan?

The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 13:56 - May 14 by hobo | Yeah those values a bit on the low side.... Realistic sales: Mawson:45 m A.Ayew:16 m Fernandez:12 m Fabianski:5 m Mesa:6 m Baston:8 m Bony: 8m Montero: 2m Rangel/Britton/Ki and maybe Routledge:free |
Dropping into the Championship means money drops across the board and we don't know the contracts players have. I'd like the club to consider keeping as many as possible as almost all would be prepared for or better than the Championship has offer. I think transfer fee will be a lot lower in the Summer and keeping players should be a priority. But I don't think we have enough players with an interest in Swansea City so they will try to move. Trying to keep players until January might be possible - then, If we are challenging at the top of the table they might stay on. If we are not looking like promotion candidates desperate lower placed clubs in the Premier league will pay more. As we did. Mawson £15 - 18 million (having an op so I assume he's have to recover as it seems only the Swans buy unfit players) Ayew A - £18 million Ayew J - £10 million Amat - £4 million Fernandez £4 million Van der Hoorn - £6million (but should be no less than Mawson) Mesa (talk of £8 million + £2 million add ons from Sevilla - whoever negotiated that deserves a pint) Fabianski £8 million (depends on World Cup) Baston £4 million or stay with us! Bony - £4 million or stay with us! - the way he was walking suggests he's a long way from fitness. Montero - free. 11 appearances and just 300 minutes for us, Getafe and CS Emelec. Routledge, Fulton, Roberts, McBurnie, Mulder, Nordfeldt, Clucas, Carroll, Naughton, Olsson, Fer,-stays Frees etc Grimes, Ki, Rangel, Britton, Dyer Stepping up from 23s Roberts, McBurnie (unless Celtic or Leeds come along with big bucks) In short not a lot of money to spend, just as when we were last in the Championship, and we need to be ready for that. Cheeky bid for Wenger?
