Time to try the combination of Cork/Ki/Shelvey or Siguardsson. Ki adds more mobility to the middle of the park and hopefully some goals. I prefer Shelvey to be the furthest of the midfield trio. Our bench has to many like for like players, no game changers. I would like to have seen a pacey 3rd striker because Eder is to similar to Gomis. |  |

Here's a thought.
There will be a few better teams than us in the Premier League this season and Everton are one of them.
If they had finishing boots on today they would have mullered us - that ball seemed to drift across the 6 yard box a few times waiting for the killer blow.

Couldn't disagree more that we were poor today. From where I was sitting two evenly balanced sides cancelled each other out, with good (and bad) performances on both teams..
Either team could have nicked a goal and while I agree Everton had the best chances, Jeff was close to scoring and we had several chances that were blazed either high or wide.
For me our best player was Cork. I thought he was excellent throughout and Jeff was a constant thorn. They often had three or four men on him.
Gylfi just couldn't get into the game and I am worried about his dip in form. We looked much better when Ki came on. I also thought Ayew looked tired (or maybe out of sorts after his early blow) and Barrow looked lively when he came on - really exploiting tired Everton legs.
I saw nothing to worry me. It was a good solid point against a good side. Onto the next game... | |
