his "balls ups" being magnified. by the media..don't start me about this .... Ive read them and formulated my own opinion. i suspect the inital interview which started this was misrepresented. And apparently there is proof he is lieing but cannot be used as otheriwise it will compromise sources so why make the threat in the first place....within 24 hours of this statement "Well, start choosing your words better then Luke, because nobody believes in their right mind you didn’t know what your agents were up to. And if this becomes a constant we will prove it" Williams was again accused of lieing about his agent....an opportunity to call him out and carry out the "threat"...... I could be wrong but where's the proof I've asked before ....but we've gone beyond this....Williams is now a dead man walking ...not helped by reporting in all media....the BIG questions remains who replaces him, have we the confidence there are those in the club with the knowledge to make the right choice? Given our wafer thin squad and likelihood of.losing one if our centre backs at the end of the season and issues over the p and s will we be able to attract the sort of manager who can give us the success the investors and fans want? . |

I don't disagree....I never bought into it it was more than what we did at the pitch......but that's what our playing got labelled. The issue is when we get a manager our fanbase or certain sections have certain expectations.....amplified on places like this |

tell the fanbase and posters on the forums that... football is about results first entertainment second....and I guess the new investors will be looking for results and promotion to the PL as thats were the rewards are. |

But who in the club would have a clue to appoint? Coleman apparently chose Luke, does he now have enough knowledge of English football to choose a suitable manager. Do the new investors have that insight? Lots of names nanded about on here.....how many of those would play the "Swansea way" how soon before gans start banging on about pragmatic managers whilst getting results playing poor dull football. We are really in a mess a paper thin squad as illustrated yesterday with Christie and Naughton starting at centre back....issues in midfield and up front and now yet again another manager crisis....most if which has been fuelled by the media... So we have a crap squad and a crap.manager....what that "decent" manager would want to come here given our recent history |

With clubs fiehlding " second string" teams is this once great competition losing it's lustre? Wycombe and Portsmouth both fielding "weakened" sides tonight and there has been much suggestion that we should field a side containing few first team regulars at Southampton. |

It might be a little too early...and I certainly wouldn't start him but he might be an option off the bench.but if he is recovered it will be like a new signing for the rest of the season. |

That's how I would imagine things should be. Individual training as you say looking to improve the weaker areas of a players game or strength. Some group skills drills and tactical drills and some set piece practice. Hasn't it been said that Sheehan is our set piece trainer? Margetson defensive coach as well as the goal keeping coach? |

two managers in the space of two days I wonder if we might soon see a third ? |

Well not having your "inside" knowledge I can't answer that...but yes training methods will contribute but surely the sports science staff monitor those...but I still don't buy totally into player fatigue when compared with the physical work etc our forefathers did |
| Forum Reply | Southampton v Swansea City : FA Cup Match day thread at 17:36 9 Jan 2025
My point re miners is about fatigue Many folk worked and still do in hard physical jobs for at least 8 hours per day with just 16 hours recovery time and they do this 5 times a week. Professional sports persons train are monitored by sports scientists and have 80/90 minute peak "burst" during g which are moments of rest for mostly one occasion every 7 days. It's just a personal beef that pro sports persons claim fatigue when you consider what the bodies of these working folk go through. I acknowledged Rayns about players looking washed out a Pompey and the West Brom games as we gad at best 3 days recovery time between each game. |

I have posted on this subject of player fatigue before. I dint understand how professional athletes should suffer from it. Compare 12 hr shitdt underground 5 days a week with what 12 hours between. But it doesnseem to happen apparently |

Though in fairness we played 4 games in 10 days with just 2 days "recovery" in between each game and we would have been travelling to. Players would have had 7 days recovery time since the West Brom game though they will have had to travel down. Personally I'd like to see us give this game a go as has been said we could win and draw a big side at home which will help the coffers and possibly bring back some fans. Then there is whammy of no replay so should it be a draw after 90 mins then it goes to extra time....would we want that with the Cardiff games in 7 days though they have an extra game as they play tonight then again on Tuesday night getting only an average of 3 .6 days recovery between games whilst we will have 6 days between games albeit we do have to travel and they don't for their games. it's going ro be a tough call for Luke....he needs wins otherwise to quote him forever if I do not help us produce good football and try and get out of this division. I would not expect anyone to. So he has to deliver |

This is what Brendan said I remember my time at Swansea where you would make a backward pass because you could not go forward,” he said (Celtic FC on YouTube). “The crowd could recognise what was happening. “They clap, they square the pass, then you play a forward pass and it changes the point of attack. It is recognising the game and that feels good for the players. They do not see that as a negative, it is to start a new attack.” This is nothing how it was like under Russ....the ball went sideways and backwards despite there bing opportunity to pass forward |
