You can also add Southampton, Norwich and Blackburn into that League 1 recent past whom are all bigger than Derby in terms of recent success. Good write up Clive, they can't possibly come good now, can they...? |

Lovely read, thank you for doing these. Funny you mention Blackburn in the last section, stat i saw today say they have the lowest attendance percentage of any championship team. At least they wont be charging £40 to head into the bar though. |

The Bill James quote was actually Mickey Mantle but I get the reasoning, lovely write up, suddenly over the last couple of months an looking forward to the season |

Agree with what you say Norf, however I think there is a slight fallacy in the thought that the squad isn't experienced. A lot of them aren't but the first 11 contained 7 players with well over 100 appearances and Kane on the bench has almost 200; Dickie – 200 appearances Barbet – 155 appearances Ball – 164 appearances Carroll – 221 appearances Adomah – 564 appearances Bonne – 234 appearances Dykes – 263 appearances Kane – 199 appearances Whether they have the quality is a different matter. |

From the upper loft the penalty looked very soft. Especially given the tackles on Big Matt Smith over the last few years. Thought we then dodged an actual penalty later when one of their lot was chopped down |
| News Comment | QPR back from the dead with random Swansea trouncing — Report at 08:09:19
RE: James. True the Rangel one wasn't great but then he did it deliberately to get Bright treatment. All he did was fall over whenever he could and conned the ref. The Cousins one was harsh as James threw himself into Cousins and grabbed the ball. |
| News Comment | McClaren suffers long term pain after short term gain — Column at 08:12:10
If McLaren went against the remit given to him others were in place to force him to stick with it. The board are the ones whom continually change stance at the blow of the wind. Such a shame as the period of good play was fantastic to watch. Lets hope the kids out on loan can hit the ground running next year as we are gonna need it. |
| News Comment | Lumley rescues Reading point for tired Rangers - Report at 08:51:03
Agree regarding the Scowen/Furlong cards, we got lucky there. The seats behind us are filled by different people each week, yesterday two guys couldn’t be more opposite. One was calm, sensible and insightful, the other was rabid. Sounded like James corden on coke. Couldn’t barrack Eze enough with less and less helpful comments. Apparently he goes home and away but as he isn’t usually behind us I am not so sure. He then kept criticising Lumley for his kicking so clearly some people are impervious to enjoying life. Overall a bad game, we looked tired and can’t help but think that Bright could have made hay in that 2nd half. Judging by the tiredness shown I would rather we rested the starting 11 for the cup game. Which is a massive shame but McClaren’s unwillingness to see us use subs will have this team dead by February. |
| News Comment | QPR go through the gears in comfortable Millwall win - Report at 12:13:38
Agree with almost everything apart from Cousins. Second half in particular I thought he was poor. Often left men open, didn’t help out defensively or in attack, as witnessed when Wells had a massive go at him after a quick break. |
